Greetings. Please stop and visit anytime.  I retired last December, so I'm usually here,  and I love the company.  I'll keep the kettle on for y'all who drink your tea hot, or I can brew a cup of coffee.  I always have iced tea in the fridge.  For those who prefer the "harder" stuff; I just checked the bar, and it's properly full right down to the Bailey's for your coffee and the Jaegermeister for those with no taste buds left..  Laughing    I read the comments daily even though I don't always respond.  I love the jokes and appreciate people's insight and intellect.  So, even if you don't see the lights on; give a shout, stop, sit a while, put your feet up, have your choice of drink, and I'll find something to munch on as well.  Thanks to those who have taken the time to say hello.   With a little help, I'll try to finish "moving in"  to my page soon..  Best wishes to all of you.                   2006-11-30

Cyndi, saw your comment today about the weather in SC. Sounds like it's staying as nice as it was Friday & Saturday of last week. I told Rob I thought those were two of the most beautiful days we have ever spent at Fripp Island - warm & sunny, but not hot or humid, & with a lovely breeze blowing. The early part of that week wasn't so good so maybe I just appreciated the nice days more. We'll be back again the week of June 10. Next time we'll have all seven grandchildren with us plus some but not all of their parents. It will be noisy but fun!! The NC & FL cousins don't have too many chances to be together so we love to help them make some good memories with each other. Have you ever been to Fripp Island? We'd love to have you & your husband come spend a day with us sometime, but NOT with all those kids around - ha ha!!

Hello Cindy; I lived in Cuba the first 15 years of my life. I can say that I've lived longer in my wonderful adoptive Country than in my birth country.
My hubby (the Southerner ) has Irish and Cherokee blood. His great-great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee who could not speak English! Amazing, Isn't it? Now he is married to a Cuban who can't speak English (Just kidding)
However I have not a drop of Cuban blood in me as my Mother is Spaniard, as well as my Paternal Grandparents - my Dad was born in Cuba, though. My Mother's and Dad's families immigrated to Cuba in the late 20's - Hey! With my family and all this immigration business, perhaps I'm gypsy!

Hello Cyndi - I thought I'd visit your page and tell you that I live about a 5min drive from the beach in the photo on hard. I love walking on the beach but don't do it often enough these days. We are very lucky in that we do have beautiful beaches with lovely soft white sand and fantastic scenery. Albany is about 400kms (265miles) south/east of Perth, our capital city in West. Aust., where Billy, Rola, Mary, Emels and others live.
I'm pleased that you like my photos and thank you very much for your comments.

Hi Cyndi, and hope you're having a terrific weekend. We'll be heading out to the golf course soon for my first round of the year, so that should be an adventure. Arthur is happy that we've finally given him the run of the house again, so he's free to wander and explore with the other two cats. He'll still eat meals alone so we can monitor what's going on, (and that pesky litter box is still in our TV room, of all places--yikes!--so we can observe his bathroom habits as well) But he's back to his old self and making us laugh. Just got oriented on the Flickr business so should be able to post a regal photo of the guy soon. Thanks for asking about him and I hope you're making the best of your weekend!

Cyndi, It snowed in Miami, Fl in January of 1977. It was a snow flurry that melted as soon as it hit the ground. I was in middle school and remember it clearly. This January was the 30th anniversary and it was all over the news. I will live somewhere that it snows occasionally but I don't want to deal with it on a daily basis for 4-6 months.

Cyndi, my boys are 3 weeks less than 4 years apart. The oldest is 10 and the little one is 6. They are both big for their ages, but the younger one is bigger than the older at each age. The younger one will be the 'big' brother some day. South Carolina is beautiful. I wouldn't mind snow every few years, Just not every year.

Cyndi - Hi there. Technically my husband is not an engineer, but he has extensive engineering in his background (go figure).

I work for a psychologist and I really enjoy that part of it, it is just all the paperwork that is a drag. Not much of a challenge after 7 1/2 years. for the tea.

Hi Cyndi, Thanks for stopping by to say 'Hi' and admire my brood... and thanks for the Key Lime I allowed myself one small piece - one wouldn't hurt the diet, would it? How's retirement going? Do you have any big plans on how to spend it? My parents are doing major trips around Europe etc. Happily spending my inheritance they say. (Go for it, says I right back!) Sorry I can't stay and chat long... I am hearing some ominous rattling noises from the family room when Elinor is on her own (19months)!!

Hello Cyndi - we're actually a mixed club with more men than women, usually only a few women there but I get good games as the men are quite good players. It is a really great game and as a teenager I played tennis as well but unfortunately never kept that up when we moved to Albany all those years ago.

Cyndi, Thanks for dropping in and yes, of course you can copy my mice. I just googled animated mouse and there they were but feel free to use them or any other smilie. I 'borrowed' most of them anyway since I cannot download them because I use a Macintosh computer. Congrats on your retirement, wonderful...isn't it??

CYNDI, I sent you an e-mail with 2 ready to submit avatars. One is your name and one is a map with dot on South Carolina (or somewhere close, the Aussies won't know the difference hehe) . I hope you like them. I think I sent you a site for downloading smilies, too. I think I remember you saying you do not check e-mail often, so letting you know they are there.

Thanks for dropping by Cyndi. Hey you are a girl after my own heart.. Bailey's over ice is like my favourite drink. Yum.
Key lime pie sounds delice. I have left you some macadamias, including some enrobed in chocolate. They are an Aussie nut and very yummy. Enjoy.
Glad you liked my photos. I will have to add some more soon. Been extra busy trying to de-clutter our place.

Hello Cyndi - if I was the Anne you were referring to in your comments on easy, thank you for your get well wishes. Reading some of the comments it seems that I should be wishing you a speedy recovery. So I hope you are feeling better.
I've only got a cold but it knocked me for six and also plays havoc with my sinuses, so I've succumbed and taking some antibiotics for it.

I have justed asked Gath to help us out on the image processing problem you are having. I had the same problem also, hubby said something about not having winzip installed, but I am not sure if that is the problem. We may have to wait till Monday to hear from Gath, LOL it is the weekend after all.
Hope you have a great day and I will let you know if I work out the problem before hand.

Gday Cyndi, I was just passing, thought I'd drop in! I haven't been on as much lately so I thought I'd catch up with you this way. A Baileys would go down a treat right about now thank you.
I've brought some goodies to replenish the larder. A bottle of Aussie bubbly, a plate of nibblies and an invitation to pop into my page anytime you're out and about. Take a stroll around the garden, find a seat in the shade and meet my family. Love to see you there.

Hi Cyndi! I keep missing you on SA so I thought I would stop your place to see how you're doing. I'm still unpacking and unwinding from my vacation while trying to get in gear to get the 3 kids ready to go away to school. We have a conflict with S#2's first day of school (they're starting a day early) and getting D#2 to boarding school on the same day. There's always something! Brendan is leaving for college on the 17th, hubby will be 50 on the 18th and Brendan's 18th birthday is on the 27th. We have to find time to squeeze in their birthdays before everyone is gone. Well, I hope you had a great day! Here are some flowers to help brighten it. Take care! ps: Gath started a new SA3 page to help the posts go through faster.

Hi Cyndi, Been a while since I have stopped by hope you are doing well. We have had the 3 H's for way too long, I am ready for fall. We had so much rain the first part of summer, that kept the temperature cool. Now, it is over 100 everyday. Take care, come visit when you can.

Hello Cyndi - Wow! What a welcoming place you have here! Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a great birthday! My husband and I left for Virginia a week ago and we are renting a house near the Galax area. We went down to North Carolina on my birthday and watched our first Rodeo. It was great. We had a lot of fun. We also went down to North Carolina on Thursday to Mount Airy for the 'Thursday Night Thrash About' at the Any Griffith Playhouse. It was 103 (F). I bet you have had some of that hot weather also!

I hope this finds you and your family all okay.
