Welcome to my page

This is a picture of the Naperville Riverwalk in the fall of 2008 on a early Sunday morning. I love to walk along the Dupage River early morning and even in the Winter. Just up around the bend is a bridge with rapids running underneath it - you can listen to the water - very nice.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Try to remember the good things. My children said I talked about my husband for days. It helps.

Mary, your description of your father's passing is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. I just hope that someone loves, cherishes, and respects me that much when my time comes. The love within your family is obvious, and I am praying for all of you as you experience this change in your lives. Bless you. XO

Mary, I'm sending you and your family my warmest thoughts during this sad time. How lucky you were to have such a special father and he, too, to have such a loving family. I'm sure he continues to watch over you peacefully from his new home and I know you'll feel his presence often. I'll say a prayer that you will be surrounded by caring family and friends during the times when you feel sadness wash over you and that the cherished memories of your father will sustain you during your grief. Don't hesitate to visit me and chat--I'd love to hear more about your father and help to support you at this time. Sending you a cyber hug.

Dear Mymare or Marie as they call you...I offer my sympathy for the lost of your dad, I know how hard it is to see our parent go, no matter what age he is...I lost my dad when he was 93 in 2003, already 5 years ago and I still miss him. He was such a great man. My prayers are with you and your family.

Mary - Condolences to you and your family. My prayers are with you and your family at the passing of your father. Note I did not say loss for he is found and at peace. Was the bell announcing a birth or another angel getting his wings?

When my husband passed, the song playing on the radio was "Tom Dooley" (The Kingston Trio was his favorite when we first met) immediately followed by "Sunrise Sunset". As it was playing I turned to my Dad and said he is gone, and knew that life goes on.

The bell chiming of the bell definitely reminds us, that life goes on, as we must - wheter a new life born or an angel with a new set of wings. Peace be with you and that your love goes with him & you are a product of his love.

thinking of you - life is so hard at times for us, but it goes on; may you soon be able to look back on your father's life and smile at all the wonderful things he did and said - one of them was certainly 'chin up'. Take care of yourself and remember him well x

Dear Mary,

I just checked in the site and read about your father. I am so very sorry. I lost my dad many years ago - he was barely 60 - but I still miss him. It is so hard to lose ones parents. I know you have many happy memories, so try hard to concentrate on those during the difficult days that lie ahead.

Mary, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Thursday would have been my dad's 92nd birthday, so since your dad & mine were from IL, maybe they met for a birthday party. It sounds like your family provided lots of support for your dad, and I'm sure he felt it, which maybe made it just a little easier for him. It seems that when our parents pass, they go on to a better and more comfortable place. I'm sure he knew how much love you all had for him, which gave him peace. May all of your family share your grief, but also your happy memories. If you feel a need to share, you can stop by my page any time.

Heartfelt sympathies Mary. A bond between a father and daughter is very special. Take comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer in pain, he can look down on you now and smile in peace.

mymare, Thank you so much for the new member "Welcome". Especially so when visiting your site to find that you have lost your father. I am so sorry. No matter how prepared for a passing you feel you are, it hurts just the same. My thoughts are with you.
I am really impressed with the outpouring of care shown by all of our fellow sudoku members and a loss to one member seems to be felt by all. Don't forget to take some time for yourself in the next few days. Hugs.

Mary, I was sorry to hear the news about your dad. I'm so glad that you can "talk" about it here on this site. I know you've been dealing with his health issues for a while now and I'm glad that he made it through the holidays. My FIL went and died on Christmas Eve, 10 yrs ago, while the rest of us were at church. Not fun trying to make arrangements during the holidays! Love and hugs to you and your family.

Thank you for the wishes for my birthday. Glad you enjoyed my back yard. I love all the birds that visit. I love those photos of Laura on Boy. Laura loves getting on the horses.

How are you doing? I am glad you find some comfort from all the people on this site. It is hard to explain to others the friendship that is generated here. Thinking of you.

Glad you stopped by to visit, Mary. Just a short story--we made homemade chicken soup yesterday, just like Mom used to do. (It tasted pretty good, too!) I'm sure she was smiling down, knowing we're doing what we can to keep her with us. (We could just hear her asking "do you think this needs more salt?")I know you'll have your own ways of paying tribute to your dear father and that he'll always have a special place in your heart. I'm sending you a bottle of Italian prosecco so you can drink a toast of thanks for great memories, and I know you'll take good care of your mother, just like your dad would have wanted.

Hi, Mary! It's interesting what your sister found out about your aunt's birthday. Maybe I was right about your dad going to a birthday party? Prayers and thoughts continue. Each day may be a miniscule bit better than the previous, but it takes time!

I was talking to my youngest brother yesterday. He told me about a dream he had "a few days ago" in which he and our dad were walking to the store. In the dream, Dad had Alzheimer's and was confused about which way to turn to get to the store. They got separated, and my brother turned but couldn't find him. He said how unsettled and upset he felt about losing Dad. I reminded him that Dad's birthday was this week, and he realized the dream was probably that evening. And, yes, he lost Dad, but not in the way it happened in the dream.

Mary, it's nice to think Margie was there waiting for him. I can imagine them frolicking around like kids again!
How is your Mum doing?
Please remember to take care of yourself, I know how hard it is to think of oneself at times like this, but you are important to us.
You are in my thoughts.

Hi Mary - Are you getting a lot of snow over there? It has been lightly snowing here for the past 24 hours with very little accumulation. My BIL plows snow over there around Chicago so it means "money in his pocket" when it snows or freezes rain! Did you get everything finished today that you wanted to accomplish? It is always a good feeling when that list is completed! Have a great evening.

Hi Mary - No I am not sure that any scores or progress achieved on Wii count. We just got one for Christmas (a Wii that is). I am having a devil of a time trying to beat my 4 year old! She routinely bowls in the 180-200 range. I even practice at night when she is in bed! Still no luck!

Hi Mary - Thanks for your visit. I see you have a new Avatar. I like it! It is -4 here also today. BRRRRRR We have a boiler system with hot water for our heat. We heat the boiler with wood and the fire had gone out over night. It is chilly in the house this morning.

I hope you have a good day at the sale. I can remember buying used uniform pieces and selling them when my children were in school. You can save a lot of money doing it that way.

Stay warm and thanks for the visit.
