I finally found the nightlights with battery backup (details p1 Easy today) for my mum, but since you're not around at the moment, thought I'd tell you about them. I just thought it might be something you might want to organise for your parents. We've put 3 in her house, and its a load off my mind!

Hello Rose, Your comments about the site summed it up perfectly. That's exactly the way I feel too but you put your finger on it exactly. I still feel all the zing went out of the site when the clever contributors like "Ian from Boston" were banned, and the other anonymous people who came up with often sarcastic, but very funny comments. You just never knew what you were going to read next and you didn't get a run-down on who was having what for breakfast or what little chores they have to do today. Who cares?
By the way, I see you've changed your photos since the last time I was here and your grandchildren (I assume) are just beautiful. I should reorganise mine I suppose as I don't have my garden or river any more and my grandaughter is 2 years older now.

Saw your post today and agree with most of it. Tis sad to see the scarcity of posts from some of the well known characters. My internet is back up and Mike has configured the laptop for me today to go on wireless pickup . Yay, no more fights with Tom re pooter time,

Catching up on yesterday's posts, and I was glad to see that you and others made some comments about the site. I for one miss you and many others, and I am disappointed with what has happened on this site. I feel like Don Quixote, charging at windmills, as when I do post a semi-serious comment or try to raise an issue, no one responds. I'm sorry I was on site to respond to you and add to your voice (and the voices of others who spoke up), but that's the problem with different time zones. Take care my friend, and I do hope you don't completely abandon those of us who do care about you and yours.

Hi Rosemary, I just wanted to say Hello and that I miss all the "old" familiar names and personalities on site. It definitely isn't the same anymore. Like you, I rarely post as there is no point. Either you are ignored or there is nothing to talk about (I think it is all too nice).
I'm glad to hear the family are well and your parents are as ok as they can be given their ages. Ethan and Taylor are looking more gorgeous as time goes on.

Hello Rose.....Now I dont know how come I happened to look but I noticed that you are not posting anymore. I went back to the archives to see what was happening. I read Aug 15th with Baz and your comments and some from Canuk Greg and Nal. Yes, I felt the site changed a long time ago which is why I dont post anymore (maybe one here and there). I cant believe the 'matriach'..lol.. of the site is leaving. You were the one who held it all together in my opinion anyway. Such a shame. I see Lauren has had a baby...Congratulations!!! Hi Rose, I had noticed you were not posting, but until I read Deb's posting today I did not realize you had left the site. I did read Canuck Greg's comment on August 15 about the site not being what it used to be- spot on. I still try to stir things up, such as my regular complaints that the only winning photos are of dogs, cats, and nameless grandchildren - BORING! Far too much happy babble and no substance, that's for sure. I like to liven things up with things like stating I have eaten squirrels, would rather spend time with alligators than most people, and encouraging folks to pay their taxes in return for government sevices (Yanks want it all for free). I was unaware that Ian from Boston was banned. Some folks were banned because others found their posts offensive, and I do have a problem with that. I know that a certain beekeeper was banned, because he had begun to stalk another member, which is quite serious indeed. I figure if I work at being controversial, then I can get banned, too. So I will begin to make regular political statements, post ribald and se*ually suggestive jokes and statements, and generally be a rable-rouser. I will of course refrain from personal attacks on some of the other nitwits!
