Hi MizT, I have finished crocheting 4 bells, 2 wreaths and 2 snowflakes. They aren't technically finished as I still have to sew the ends in and stiffen them. I don't like that bit though so I wait until I've finished crocheting and do them all at the same time. I plan on making a few more snowflakes first.

Thank you for letting me know about the effects of overtiring on recovery. I have been trying to be good. Yesterday I was a bit naughty. We were given a 15% discount coupon for anything we purchased from a chain store, but it was only valid this weekend. I knew there were some things I wanted for the girls for Xmas from that store so hubby and I headed over. He insisted on getting me a motorised cart (available for free from mall management) and I scooted around the store with him. Interesting experience! I learned something about access for the disabled that's for sure! Afterwards I had a nap while hubby took the girls over to do their shopping. When they got home we all headed over to the gymnastics Xmas show - supposed to be 3 to 5, but ended up being 3-5.40. Hubby took off early to get other daughter to a birthday party by 5.30. I reclined in front of the TV while hubby did the pickup run - D#2 from party and D#1 from second show gym show at 8pm. Up at 4am walking up and down the driveway trying to relieve that side effect that they forget to mention before surgery. Today hubby plans to mow a much neglected lawn (thanks to me!) which will take him all day as we have a very large yard. So hubby is definitely getting overtired during my recovery!!

Last one! One of the benefits of not being waited on hand and foot during the day is weight loss - I've lost about 1.5 kg, (3lb) this week. Hopefully I will be able to keep it off.

I have tried iced tea and didn't really enjoy it, though it may have just been the particular variety I was served. One type of iced tea that I was introduced to while living in the states really knocked me for six (that's a cricket expression, I guess the baseball equivalent is 'knocked me out of the park'). I didn't even know it had alcohol in it until I tried to stand up. Thank goodness I only had one! You guessed it - a Long Island Iced Tea.

Some people got really annoyed at the cart - maybe I didn't look sick? Others were shaking their heads. I heard one woman say to her daughter - look, no one is stopping to let her out.

I haven't been taking your advice today and will soon end up under a shower and on the bed. My mother is supposed to be arriving for an extended visit early next week and tends to be very critical. She won't pick on me this trip, but she will give the girls an extremely hard time if things are not to standard. D#1 is mowing the front lawn, hubby is mowing back lawn, D#2 is doing odd jobs for me, and I am doing WAY too much. That's why I'm here taking a break.

Hi MizT! My post yesterday was just a rant against stupid people who try and ruin things for others. Sorry.
I really like the personal inbox option for e-mail addresses and such. I don't think I would use it more than 10 times a day, though
While I'm here, I'd like to wish you and your family a Happy Holiday Season

I really like th epersonal in box idea too. I really wish Gath madeit more clear what he was limiting to 10. People have posted about it meaning posts on easy, on peoples individual pages (visiting) And I was half way serious about your trying to send 11 personal messages a day, cause I can't test it myself

Returning your Greeting, MERRY CHRISTMAS,

and if you do not celebrate Christmas, well come and greet me with your holiday greeting! Will not offend me one bit.

I also have three daughters and only gave birth to two of them. Sometimes I feel guilty about Joy. Her mother is a friend and I do understand Joy calling me Mom all the time, but I do understand why.

Thank you, MizTricia for dropping by my place & leaving that beautiful card, I'm only sorry I couldn't hear it (my computer is dumb!) but I sang it in my head as it progressed through the days! The sound card doesn't work & Paul (my H) doesn't need any sound so it's of low priority to fix, he's very busy (& I'm not saying that facetiously either!). I hope to get my own computer eventually when He gets the time! Anyway shouldn't be boring you or you won't visit me & you'll hide behind the curtains if you see me coming your way! That quilt is a truly amazing way to remember those who died in 2001, such beauty against such tragedy! Now I'll just wish a very merry Christmas and an awesomely also!

Hi Tricia, NT stands for Northern Territory - a state of Australia. I live in Darwin - in the middle of Australia at the top. Thanks for your welcome.. I've actually been visiting this site since May 2005 but never got around to joining.

May you and your family have a joyful Christmas with the traditional gifts of peace and hope (rather than tinsel and rampant consumerism)...I think it's more fulfilling in the long run.

I always do lemon cordial for Christmas pressies. Love that home-made feel. I used to have a lemon tree in Victoria but up here we have a lime. I'm actually going to make another couple of batches today and maybe mix some lemon and lime.... so here's yours
LEMON CORDIAL
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

Enjoy with my blessings!! fi

MizT, thank you for the Christmas greeting and the card. Dad always sent me a Lawson card for just about every occasion, and Chudleigh was almost always the messenger. I've missed getting them and this was quite a pleasant surprise. Best wishes for you and your family this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas, MizTricia! I can't believe I've only been a part of Sudokuland for 7 months. The friends I've made here seem more like old friends that some of my "old friends" (if you know what I mean - I'm not sure I do!!!) Anyway, have a wonderful holiday season and make sure you eat lots of chocolates and drink lots of champagne (unless you don't like them, in which case, send them to me!)

Hi MizT,
Getting close now... Your rush is almost over and sounds as if it was wonderful, mine is just beginning and I'm starting to feel rushed, but in a good way Tonight is Carols by Candlelight at a local school. My mum has offered to help with the BBQ and will probably take my girls if the youngest is back from her last rehearsal. Tomorrow is Carols in the Park, with D#2 playing the role of Frosty the Snowman. Monday is another carols night held as a fundraiser for children's ward by a local family. The second two are topped off with fireworks, and this year we may even stay late enough to see them.

I'm feeling better today, both from op and from stress of too many police cars too close for too long - again. Planning a day shopping with the girls and hubby. I'll probably sit and have coffee for some of it, but youngest is definitely looking for guidance from me, oldest only has my present to go so will have to get her guidance from Dad.

Hi MizT
Just called in to wish you and yours and wonderful and joyous Christmas and a happy, safe and successful New Year 2008. Enjoy!
As I got onto your page I was admiring the wonderful 9/11 quilt. What a beautiful tribute to those unfortunate people who lost their lives in such an apalling tragedy. My thoughts to their families who are facing yet another Christmas without their loved one.
Regards, Cynthia
