Let me tell you, a Choc Mud Cake is like dying and ending up in chocolate heaven! It is the richest, solidest kind of cake you can get. And you want to know what's really special? Cutting a serve and heating it up in the microwave for a few seconds then serving it with a great dollop of thick cream. mmm mmm

Yes, I did recognized this beetle, with one little exception: Our bugs were "painted" different. They were black or brown with the white chaotic spots, that made them look like gray granite. But those "mustaches" are very recognizable.

It was a lot of fun (many, many years ago) to catch him and spin him around, while holding his hard wings, and he would start to make a noise like a fan on high speed.

for the anniversary wishes! We only had breakfast together on our anniversary since David was at a conference in Canada (Fri-Sun.) I had to return Sat AM to give my cat an insulin shot since he would not cooperate for my neighbor. Will have to figure this out before this fall when we go to the UK for two weeks!

Hey, Jenny, it was great being able to spend the afternoon with you at Debby's! I posted just before you, but then immediately went out to eat and then crashed! I saw your posts the next day but was too busy yesterday to post. Your boys seemed to enjoy being at Debby's. I loved Sean's "hummingbird went round & round & round" and Ian is VERY good at going "round & round & round"! It was fun!

I should have looked at your photos first! Good shot of the baby Robins! (David got me a digital camera for my upcoming "personal holiday" & it fits in my purse!) Now I won't forget it!

Jenny, if you'll look up Ruth, NC, you'll see that it is not only next to Rutherfordton, my home town, they touch. As a child I lived closer to Ruth Elementary than Rutherfordton, but attended Rutherfordton. Did you do anything in Ruth besides pass through on your way to the mountains?
You were in Raleigh for four years? Sounds like college. My aunt, Marion Neal, worked at NC State in the financial office, and my uncle Bobby bought and sold big equipment. They had two daughters, Wendy and Gina, in your age range.
I like tomato based BBQ sauce, but everyone here likes vinegar/pepper. Just take me to Bridges in Shelby and stand back.
I'm sure AnnArbor is lovely, but I wish you were back down here, too. Maybe we could have had a meet-up. Oh, well. Keep in touch and we'll see what the future brings.

Today (Sunday) we have our grandson. My son called at 7:30AM because Julie's contractions were getting 5 minutes apart. Cross your fingers that all goes quickly for them!
