Y wing style - Again - is a possible major key to unlock today's tough.
Blogged again, link in the usual place -
Upper right column, under Check out the Sudoku Blog.

In spite of the circumstantial evidence, I have no control over the puzzles...

The railway line in the front of the photo is used by the huge iron ore trains which can be over a mile long, if I'm correct, and sometimes have about 3 or 4 engines to pull them.

Anne, is the black coloring of the hill/mountain in the background indicative of the iron ore they are mining? Interesting photo...

Here's a solution to Tough March 21 that doesn't require any techniques more advanced than coloring.

Iron ore isn't mined anywhere near where this photo was taken but further inland and railed to the port near where this photo was taken. But there is iron ore in a lot of the rugged hills around the area.
My son flew up north on Monday to start work on the construction of a new iron ore mine out from Newman, and other than the camp for about 500, there is nothing within miles of them.

Anne - those trains are no joke when you get caught at a level crossing - it's good to have a book handy - they take so long to go past.

Great photo Anne, you certainly are well travelled. One day we hope to get over to W.A. Just looking at your photo I can just feel the atmoshere..I may be wrong but I can just imagine the hot sun, clean air, occasional light breeze and hardly a soul for miles!

Hello Meg - it all depends on where you are. In Albany we get a lot of easterly winds during the summer which spoil it for the beachgoers. We definitely have the hot sun, although not as hot in Albany as further north and inland, and of course, we have the clean air. But no matter where you are, you will usually see someone around.

Thanks for your proof Justin!
With practice, the Y wing that you use in your proof, and Y wing style that I use in mine - can be viewed as being the same in difficulty - In my opinion, anyway.
