It seems that after I finish my Easter Monster analysis there might be some good puzzles to look back at.

Historically, the really tough ones come in bunches from Gath. I think the one from two days ago is also fairly challenging!

Steve -- Yes, Nov 26 is tough. Would you be willing to do a proof of it? I'm just learning the techniques for solving toughs, and Nov 26 just floored me!

When we took middle school students to France with People to People, our kids had the privilege of singing the National Anthem and lowering the flag at dusk in the American cemetery at Normandy. As we stood around the flag and sang, citizens of at least a dozen other countries encircled us, all with their hands over their hearts, somber faces, and tears in their eyes. I doubt if I will ever experience anything as moving.

Judy: I know you're long gone from the site for now, but you mentioned People to People, and my son did the UK trip with PTP several years ago (he's 27 now, and it was between 7th & 8th grades, I think). PTP is a great group.

Hi Val!

After I dispense with the Easter Monster, I intend to pour through the archives and tackle some previous puzzles. I will place Nov 26 high on the list, unless someone does it first (which would be pretty cool).

It may take a week or two before I successfully execute the Easter Monster.

Hmmm - ok - what I mean is it may take a week or two to ILLUSTRATE one path that defeats the Easter Monster.

I was also defeated by Nov26, so I ran it through Sudoku Solver. If you're not familiar with it, Google it and check it out. The strategy of last resort for SS is "Bowman's Bingo". This is listed under "Trial and Error methods". I call it "Guess".

Nov26 required 2 guesses for me.
I'll be eagerly awaiting a valid proof.
