It's still the Ides of June here. Yes that's a real thing to us ancient Romans.

I was thinking about kitties when that popped up.

When Azariah was born, hubby informed me that it was the Ides of March. Considering that I had just given birth and wasn't familiar with the term, I just glared. I did look it up much later.

everyone!
I, too, had to look up the meaning of Peter's ''£10 Pom'' reference. Thanks for sharing that story, Peter. What an interesting time it must have been for you and your family.

The answer to yesterday's poozle: HANG and LEAN
The ''Bouncing Bat Crown'' goes to winners Shiela, Cake Lady, Serena, Peter, Joyce, Judy, Meg, and DotCom. Shosho and Lonewoof also gave it a try, but forgot about the ''2 words that were NOT complete words'' part. Good effort, though!

And, for today.....

In each of these 5 words, can you change the letter in parenthesis to produce 5 new words?
The new letters spell a fruit. What is the fruit?

(D)ate
n(U)t
(L)ime
p(E)ach
(P)ear

Darn Fitbit thingy! Nothing like having a wrist band that vibratingly nags you into getting off your duff and walk! The cats are looking at me rather askantly as I whiz by them five times a bout!

Happy Birthday, Karate Jan, Maureen/Dubbo and Katitude.🎂🎉🍾
16/Jun/16 9:59 AM
A couple of days ago, Serena submitted a puzzle that involved a two-digit number that was divisible by both 4 & 7 and whose digits totaled 11. I started by multiplying 4 & 7 to get 28. Those two digits totaled 10, so I doubled 28 to 56, and had the answer.
Later that afternoon I got an e-mail from my electric company informing me that my bill was $128.56.
Weird.
16/Jun/16 10:35 AM
It also could be considered weird that all those numbers reminded you of Serena's puzzle!!
16/Jun/16 11:55 AM
Night all.
16/Jun/16 12:47 PM
Morning All.Peter, I too have been surprised that the so called experts have selected the Dogs, but I have been pleasantly surprised. With the Cats this Saturday and the Swans after the bye, but I'm hopeful. Go the Doggies.
16/Jun/16 1:07 PM
Peter, I'll be really interested to see the teams tonight, with Boyd, the million dollar a year purchase returning from injuries via the VFL last week and doing quite well. The other one returning from injury, three knee reconstruction, was best on the ground with about 35 kicks. I'll be interested to see if they include one or both of them. Go the Scraggers.
16/Jun/16 1:14 PM
Dream while you can, Wombat. Your time is short.

Gooooooooo Cats!
16/Jun/16 3:07 PM
Do I detect a note of doom in your message Peter? I should have said the name of the other player who is a possible returnee is Clay Smith. If he gets to play on Saturday, he and Daniel Menzel will make it a total of seven knee reconstructions between them, surely a record Don't be to hard on the Cats, Doggies you know what cry babies they are.
16/Jun/16 5:18 PM
We are probably boring all the other Sudokists Peter, even Anne. There seem to be so many knee reconstruction in AFL and they are endemic to netball as well. I wonder if any other sports have injures which are so frequent and so disabling?
16/Jun/16 5:23 PM
Hello oooo
16/Jun/16 6:00 PM
Yeah, Anne's been quiet this year. Mind you, if my team preformed like hers I would shut up too!
16/Jun/16 6:24 PM
Good evening.
16/Jun/16 6:26 PM
Anyway, I digress!

The Doggies are going down, Wombat.
