Nice photo, appy. Looks peaceful, yet wild, surprisingly so close to "civilization."
20/Feb/08 3:42 AM
Although, Cami, I'm not sure that college campuses qualify as "civilization!" :)

Have a great day/night, everyone!

Tough puzzle today...!
Over 2 hours, UP 30 and ... gave up, I'll be back.

Good afternoon to all! Skipped the puzzle but peaked at the picture. JUDY, I agree with you. If that is near the university campus then it is definitely in the 'wilds.' Nice photo Anu.

ttt, glad to hear it gave you trouble, too. Don't feel so bad now. Got to the pond by way of guessing.

Lovely photo, appy, thanks.

Again, to my surprise, this was quick solve for me; it seems the games got easier since I left about 6 months ago. I used to play (and struggle) every night to enjoy the pictures and your comments. I took a break due to work and got back three days ago. Now I solve the toughs with much less strain More...

git, todays puzzle is the hardest in quite a while. We had a few easys last week. ttt has been posting proofs lately and it has him stumped at the moment. I am pretty good, but I only got to 25 solved with no 'easy' chains available to continue.

If you have a proof, I am sure there are at least a few of us that would like to see it.

I had to guess my butt off to get this one today!

Git, I see you're not signed in today. Did you know you have a page?
20/Feb/08 4:10 PM
I am glad some one finds them easy I just can't seem to do the tough. Even though I am now finding the tough much easier
20/Feb/08 5:18 PM
Not an easy one...
20/Feb/08 5:31 PM
Not easy, but a good guess of 1 in b6 solves it. i cannot find how to do this in a logical fashion, but if ttt (from Vietnam) cannot do it, then there is no chance for me.

Tough puzzle today!
A ugly path for this one
Start at 23
1- Basic techniques UP 25 (note : pairs 14 at ab8, 58 at a4b5)
2- b5=8==a4=8 – a9=8==a9=9 – a3=9==c1=9 – c1=1==c4=1 – hi4=1==i6=1 – i6=9==h5=9 => h5<>8
3- c2=2==b2=2 – b2=5==b5=5 – b5=8==g5=8 – g5=4==c5=4 => More...

ttt, Thanks for the proof. I was working on this tough all day, getting nowhere. Now, I need to study your steps. Thanks for taking the time to post proofs, so the rest of us can learn!
21/Feb/08 2:21 AM
Finally! Quite a toughy.
21/Feb/08 7:19 AM
I agree with Maureen. The posted proofs are a wonderful way to learn. Thank you for taking the time to post proofs ttt. I'll take a good look at this one after work today.
