Continuing yesterday's discussion....
Black-eyed peas and collards on New Year's Day is a Southern U.S. tradition. If I remember correctly, they are believed to bring good luck and prosperity in the coming year. It seems Hal is all set!

jimnotinoregon (loved that, Sarah!), New Hampshire is one of the prettiest states I've ever been in. Of course, I was there in the summer. I don't know that I'd be too fond of that -17° thing.

That's a Crimson Rosella - I frequently have them in my front courtyard having a bit of a feed. Absolutely beautiful birds.

Those rosellas just love the new shoots on one's roses, especially in times of drought.

I'll take my favorite number 29. Maybe my new year's resolution should be to try to get a 29 post at least 29 times in 2019? 29 is bad luck in Japan but it was a good day for me in April almost 58 years ago. It's my birthdate! Anyone else like a number because it's in their birthdate?

Well, Tom, what's late for Vancouver is still early in the day for anywhere in Australia.
