Great picture! She looks happy, but, yes Shiela, she is brave!!

mAen! 6:33

A friendly bunch! There used to be an ostrich farm within a mile from where I live (may be still is? haven't walked by that area lately). I was so surprised to learn that ostriches could live at these latitudes (60 degrees North), but they looked happy, or content at least. At a local grocery store you could even buy their eggs!

That looks like tons of fun!

Jyrki - and do what with them? I think you should post a recipe that calls for ostrich eggs. hmm. An Artic Ostrich Omelette? Sounds like fast food -- and filling.

Cleverly posed. The ostriches look rather cuddly to me... ;-)

Sure looks like she's enjoying the hug their necks are giving her!

4:25 Maen! I probably wouldn't be smiling if that were me in the photo, but then again I know nothing about ostriches.

17:45 I was hugely distracted by Little Plum ...

DanM, I know enough about ostriches to say you'd be happier being on the outside of the fence instead of the inside.
17/Jan/09 3:21 AM
Yeah, Plum ... I've heard that ostriches can be quite amorous ...

I know how to spell arctic and antarctic, but it's been coming out without the middle c lately. I must be spelling off key?

Anything that big with a beak is a little freaky close up.

Plum!

You're right. I never saw too many customers with ostrich eggs in their shopping carts. Having two of the on the refrigerated shelf (whaddayacallit?) as a curiosity did work, though :-)

I wouldn't go near one, though. Given that an ostrich can outrun me easily I, too, prefer to have the fence in between.

I think she looks scared to even move! I didn't see ostriches when we visited Aruba on our cruise - it was Christmas Day and everything was closed, so didn't see much of anything.

9:48, no possibilities. all.
