Bad Poetry Day (this should be fun)

Good Maen, all. Captain J's taxi service is firing up soon to take yet another ailing friend to see her doctor, since she's "too scared to go alone". and here I thought only males fought off medical visits.
19/Aug/11 12:04 AM
Poor Jaime. Just when I thought he'd run through all possible ailments, he's come up with a new one. He woke up Monday morning with a very swollen, painful elbow. He put a sling on and managed to get through the day. Then Tuesday morning he woke up to find the pain (and selling) had migrated to More...

Ut oh.. bad poetry day, eh? That's one right up my alley.
19/Aug/11 12:05 AM
Bad poetry day? Oh goody! I'll be back later with a contribution...
19/Aug/11 12:05 AM
I guess I'll start it off right now.

Spring is sprung. The grass is riz.
I wonder where the birdies is?
The bird is on the wing, they say - Absurd!
'Cuz we all know the wing is on the bird.

Pull up a stump and grab a cup.

Friday night, 12 August, was really bad for Maggie. Seeing her suffer so made the decision easier. We went to the Vet, for the last time, Saturday morning........

Rest in Peace, Maggie. You were a great dog and a loyal companion...
19/Aug/11 12:25 AM
So sorry to hear about Maggie, Jerry. Losing a pet is so painful.
19/Aug/11 12:31 AM
Beautiful photo, and a perfect day here. Enjoy!
P.S. Jane, hubby had something similar--turned out to be bursitis and he's had one flare-up since. It was like he had three elbows--huge, watery and sore as heck. Hope Jaime gets better!
19/Aug/11 12:32 AM
Jane, sorry about Jaime's latest ailment. Hope he feels better soon.

More news in this morning's paper about the 17 year old arrested in Tampa. I, too, wondered if his mother might have been the tipster. But then I had to wonder why no one in his family showed up More...

Captain J has taken flight
He's joined the birdies, what a fright!
He's flying in circles: loop-the-loops
Be sure to take cover when he poops.

(Is that bad enough?)
19/Aug/11 12:33 AM
Cathy - the docs said it could be bursitis, but they also mentioned gout. Hopefully, we'll know tomorrow.
19/Aug/11 12:36 AM
Kathy - What a shocking story. Obviously the kid's parents are educated. How could they possibly have not known what was going on in his life? I wonder if we'll ever know.
19/Aug/11 12:39 AM
Oh, Jerry, I am so sorry about Maggie. She was such a wonderful companion for you. I know you will miss her a lot. I hope maybe in a few weeks or months you will consider adopting one or more rescue dogs who would LOVE to come & share your home with you.
19/Aug/11 12:39 AM
Are we there?
19/Aug/11 12:43 AM
Yep! Sorry, Keith.
19/Aug/11 12:44 AM
Kathy - have you been watching the Cincinnati tournament? Mardy Fish is moving right along!
19/Aug/11 12:45 AM
Jane, Rob had a similar swollen elbow like Cathy's hubby did! His got so big the dr. had to use a needle to drain some of the accumulated fluid. Even after the course of treatment with anitbiotics it was sore for several weeks. But luckily there's been no recurrence.
19/Aug/11 12:45 AM
Jerry, my heartfelt condolences on your losing Maggie. You were devoted to her care and showed her kindness and mercy by ending her suffering. One of the toughest decisions, and I know how much you'll miss your loving companion.
19/Aug/11 12:47 AM
anitbiotics - a variation of antibiotics!

If poetry is to be good,
there is one thing it should
do, and do so every time
and that thing is it has to rhyme.
But sadly that's oft not the case
Since sometimes it just doesn't!
19/Aug/11 12:47 AM
Jerry, sorry to hear about Maggie, I know what a friend she was to you.
19/Aug/11 12:54 AM
Jane, Mardy Fish is in the best shape of his life (nice article in the Sept. issue of Tennis magazine). He gives a lot of the credit for his recent successes to his wife of 3 years (a lawyer & former Deal or No Deal model). Gotta love a guy who appreciates his wife!

There once was a mother
Who wanted a shower.
The shower was not to be
For she had children
Who were driving her mad.
19/Aug/11 1:01 AM
Jerry, my condolences on the loss of Maggie. I know it's hard to put a pet down, but I'm sure you made the right decision. I agree with Kathy in that - when you're ready - you should consider a rescue dog. The g/f got one a few years back and will do it again when the time comes.

Jerry, I'm sorry that you have lost Maggie. It was a kind and loving decision you made.
RIP sweet girl.

There once was a lady from Denver
Who could never pass up a good 'two-fer'
She had a great Honey
He was really funny
But Cabana Boy made her feel Super!

19/Aug/11 1:20 AM
Oh, we are good at being bad.

How was your doctors visit, Shannon?
19/Aug/11 1:31 AM
Boris and I just went and made a little visit to the pet memorial and sent up a heartfelt purrrrr in Maggie's honor, so sorry Jerry.
19/Aug/11 1:34 AM
Well Karen, after having a go-round with the staff since my medical records have 'disappeared'...they came in to get my family history and any procedures I've had done. I told them that since the sex-change operation, everything's been great!
19/Aug/11 1:38 AM
I might actually get in the shower.
But I have my priorities.

When Lady Ewlala swoons,
Her bazooms pop out like balloons,
so a butler stands by,
with a glint in his eye,
and puts them back in with warm spoons.

Oh. Were they supposed to make sense?
