Hi all from sunny France! Shiela, remember to let your Welsh guests watch the rugby on Saturday - they're in the semis with France so I imagine they'll want to get up at some god-forsaken hour of the night to tune in!

Heidi, Keith and Pam all had a pretty good idea how to get the egg in the bottle without breaking it in yesterday's puzzle - something about soaking the egg in vinegar, lighting a fire in the bottle, putting the egg on the top... and the egg gets sucked in. Lovely.

A spoonerism is a pair of words that can have their initial sounds switched to form new words. The pairs need only sound the same, not necessarily be spelled the same (power saw & sour paw, horse cart & coarse heart). More...

It is bad...I have a strong, overwhelming urge to do laundry and clean house. If I don't, I may never recover. Guests are coming in a monthe for hunting season.
12/Oct/11 2:08 AM
OK, I have CP'd. Read the paper, then clean.
12/Oct/11 2:09 AM
Hi Sarah Beth,

If your guests are arriving in a month, you don't need to do the cleaning now.

If you do, you may get another urge to do the cleaning in about 2 weeks, and then a panic-attack' cleaning effort just before they arrive.

Ah, Neil, if I don't start now, it may not get done. I do get interrupted occasionally to do a farm chore or two. Plus, I don't get inspired that often. The dishes are clean and a load of laundry is in the machine. Now to find my kitchen counters, then clean the floor.

Before Keith visited me I had to start cleaning about two months in advance. That is because, before he gave notice of his visit, cleaning had become an historical issue.
