Hi everyon.

G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
sagacity — town with a tale
And here's today's factoid:
One of the most Scottish of places, John O’Groats, is named after a 16th century Dutch immigrant called Jan de Groot.

That's the funny thing about most typos. The person who typed it is the only person who notices it.

I like the art in the background.

Each group of definitions describes three words that are spelled the same, except for one letter (each group describes a different set of words). Example: king, ring, wing.

I'm sure this goes under Murphy's law but can someone explain to me why my seemingly healthy kids decide that the middle of the night is when they want to throw up. First little girl the night before last and then little boy last night. My washing machine is working over time. Think this will be enough coffee to keep me going?

To continue from yesterday:
So ‘raining cats and dogs’ can literally be a natural phenomenon. On second thoughts I am not sure whether raining cats would be half-way there. It all depends on how you evaluate cats compared with dogs. If the two animals are ‘equal’, we are indeed half-way More...

Sun's out there today!
So are the c-c-cold temps! (Surprise! Surprise!)
It's up 10 whole degrees from -11F (-24C) last night.
So, it's a balmy -1F (-18) right now.

Rayray, Any port in a storm?
13/Feb/14 2:23 AM
No Neil, any port in a bottle.
13/Feb/14 2:48 AM

Ray, your agile mind is a morning treat for me. The '' torn-ado'' reference had me chuckling. So good to have you back!
13/Feb/14 2:51 AM
Glad you're back, Rayray! You keep my mind spinning!
13/Feb/14 3:01 AM
Serena - Don't you have three kids? Two have gotten sick. I hope I don't hear of a third sleepless night!
13/Feb/14 3:03 AM
Kayo & Doug W - Thanks for the great starts to our day!
13/Feb/14 3:04 AM
Good morning to all! Who is the dapper young fellow pictured here today?
13/Feb/14 3:15 AM
Rayray, what role does Arnold Schwarzenegger play in the movie? Is he Mrs. Brown?
13/Feb/14 3:16 AM
You Snooze, you loose Keith, but this 22 is for you.
13/Feb/14 3:17 AM
How about the woman's race? Two skiers tied for the gold medal and the bronze went to a skier just 1/10 of a second behind. Amazing!
13/Feb/14 3:20 AM
Well, I'll CP and check back later. Cheers!
13/Feb/14 3:21 AM
It was exciting, to say the least, Greg!
Strangely enough, I like the curling. Hubby says it's like watching paint dry, but it's a lot more complicated than it first appears. And some of the pants! Norway looked like they were wearing stained glass.
13/Feb/14 3:38 AM
Hi, Kurly-Kathy,

You don't need new glasses yet - they obviously weren't steamed up either.
13/Feb/14 3:46 AM
Will those pants start a new fashion?
13/Feb/14 3:51 AM
No, I don't think so Keith. Those colourful pants have been around for quite a while now.
13/Feb/14 3:53 AM
As to the curling, it's a sport I love watching. That was what kept me busy last week, watching the Canadian Woman's tournament here, and the team from Ottawa won for the second time in two years. I think we'll see them at the Olympics next time instead of Jennifer Jones' great team.

There's a good line for the novel - Arnold playing Mrs Brown - or perhaps Mrs Brown (of British TV fame) playing Arnold.
13/Feb/14 4:48 AM
Thats strange. I started the easy puzzle and after a few 'moves' decided to 'Check Moves'.
It shows all the original clues are wrong and only my entries as correct.
13/Feb/14 4:51 AM
Rayray... I read your tornado post with true glee. You are BACK, my friend!
13/Feb/14 5:04 AM
Never got a taste for port, so my gout hasn't induced me to partake.
13/Feb/14 5:06 AM
I used to curl when I was younger, but breaking my back put an end to that. Those stones are HEAVY!!!
13/Feb/14 5:09 AM
Well, I need to bundle up and walk the pasture again. We've started calving season.
13/Feb/14 5:10 AM
Don't ya wonder what the old fella was caught doing that he wasn't supposed to be doing?
13/Feb/14 5:28 AM
Happy Wednesday!
