Line Dance Day

National Creme Filled Donut Day
15/Sep/11 12:01 AM
A beautiful day here in Michigan. Sunny and cool right now, but will get into the low 70's.
STILL cleaning, Phantom... (I used to move every few years and would clear everything out during the move. Haven't moved for several years now and was due for a 'clearing out'!)

Good morning.

And Good Night.
15/Sep/11 12:04 AM
Happy Advancing in Age, Jill.
She is turning 29 again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again.

I am sure there is more.
15/Sep/11 12:04 AM
A bright red rose for Jill's birthday! Hope it's a happy day.
15/Sep/11 12:05 AM
Thank you, Karen, for finally giving us a day that works off its own calories!
15/Sep/11 12:06 AM
Good Maen, all!
15/Sep/11 12:06 AM
Your welcome, Plum.
Though I thought a donut sounded really good after all the line dancing. But it might be better to eat the donut then do the line dancing, if you can move.
15/Sep/11 12:09 AM
Congrats to all the tennis fans, and your favorite wins.
15/Sep/11 12:10 AM
Sounds yummy, Karen. (But lemon-filled is my favorite!)
15/Sep/11 12:13 AM
Line dancing, used to do it a long time ago. The most amusing thing is my kids thought I went to Lion dancing...I think they were most disappointed when they found out the reality!
15/Sep/11 12:13 AM
The last two days I have been around, but not in here. MIL had Morgan, and I had two plans. Plan A, to do all those darn things that my little helper loves to help me with or crawl back into bed and sleep until it was time to pick up Thing I. Monday, I crawled back into bed, just in time to get More...

2.22 what a stunning red rose
15/Sep/11 12:17 AM
everybody. Karen, I combined yesterday's celebration & today's & had two chocolate iced glazed donuts for breakfast today! Everything downstairs is now covered in plastic & drop cloths. The painters are hard at work. Washer & dryer are upstairs so I am washing all the curtains & spending time on the computer in between loads.

Good Morning all. Beautiful day in SE Michigan. Note to Shiela: Your Spartans have to beat Notre Dame on Saturday!!!!!
15/Sep/11 12:22 AM
Happy Birthday Wilodene.
15/Sep/11 12:23 AM
Oh, great there she goes again. I did notice my curtains yesterday as I was sweeping the walls. Darn.
Kathy, talk about winning the lottery, I would much rather do that, than what you are making me do.
15/Sep/11 12:23 AM
ONe more.
15/Sep/11 12:23 AM
Shiela, you are making the voices think too about cleaning out.
What are you two trying to do to me.
Man might get accustomed to a clean house and dinner ready when he comes home.
15/Sep/11 12:25 AM
OK, I have played, now it is time to go get my little darling, who I have learned is not too happy to leave her Grandma.
Poor child does not understand that she is supposed to be returned to her Grandma in two days. Or that is the plan.
15/Sep/11 12:26 AM
Shiela, I know what you mean about accumulating "stuff" when you don't move! After moving 17 times in our first 23 years of marriage (the Navy years!), we have been in the same house in FL since 1986. And now we have not only our "stuff" but a lot that belonged to our parents & children, too.
15/Sep/11 12:34 AM
Hi Nancy. Maybe we can talk football now instead of tennis! DoA will be happy that there are no more major tennis tournaments until Jan. (the Aussie Open!), but we have a whole football season ahead of us. Were you at the Mich.-Notre Dame game last Sat. night?? That was SOOOOO exciting even on TV. In the Big House it must have been thrilling!!!
15/Sep/11 12:41 AM
After successfully unloading a lifetime of "stuff" when we downsized from a 3900 square-foot house to a 1300 square-footer in 2004, we seem to be back in the cluttered mode again. It's either time for another yard sale, or maybe buy a second home to redistribute.
15/Sep/11 12:43 AM
Does anyone remember those paper dresses from the 60s? Why doesn't someone come out with paper curtains? When they get dirty, just toss them in the recycle bin.
15/Sep/11 12:45 AM
Phantom, I'd be willing to watch some rugby even though I don't know much about it. I'm just not sure I can find the Rugby World Cup on the local TV stations??
15/Sep/11 12:46 AM
Jane, I like that paper curtain idea!
15/Sep/11 12:49 AM
Kathy - how could you have forgotten about the year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and the WTA Tour Championship? There IS tennis after the U.S. Open!!
15/Sep/11 12:51 AM
Decided to change my avatar in honor of "line dance day".

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.

During my second month of college, our professor

Gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student
And had breezed through the questions until I read

The last one:

"What is the first name of the woman More...

Back in my advertising days, I got to know the cleaning crew very well - with all the overtime I put in. I remember one incident very well. I was working on a tight deadline one night, and to take a break, I started chatting with one of the cleaning women who was probably in her mid-fifties. I More...
15/Sep/11 1:35 AM
Oh, and her name was Maxine. (Hmmmmm....come to think of it, maybe she was the original Maxine.)
15/Sep/11 1:36 AM
Good morning. What a beautiful red rose.
Would someone like to clean the dust bunnies off my ceiling fan?
15/Sep/11 1:58 AM
Hi June! How are you? What are you doing up so late? I wish I COULD come clean off your dust bunnies & then stay in Oz for about a month afterward. There are so many people I want to meet there & so many places we didn't get to see on our first trip.
15/Sep/11 2:11 AM
DoA - your angel side is showing today! I love that Cleaning Lady story. And Jane, I loved yours, too.
15/Sep/11 2:14 AM
My very first job was to be part of the maintenance/janitor crew of the high school I was going to. I kept that job all through college, and it paid my way. I got to know the folks on that crew well, liked them a lot, and have enjoyed getting to know cleaning people wherever I run across them ever since.
15/Sep/11 2:29 AM
Now, you offer to clean ceiling fans.
