No need for sunglasses.

02/Apr/16 1:12 AM
Happy April Fool's Day!
02/Apr/16 1:23 AM
I was googling around for the origin of April Fool's Day. As far as I can ascertain, no one really knows. There are all sorts of theories, though. So, I guess you can take your pick. When we were kids, my brother's annual ''trick'' on my Dad was to switch the sugar to salt in the sugar bowl. More...

This is the same brother who balanced a cup of water on the top of my bedroom door so when I opened it I got drenched. He also did this prank several times. I wasn't as amused as my Dad was about the salt/sugar. I did let him live....but begrudgingly. He still laughs about it to this day.

Maybe I'm too food oriented, but I see your Avatar as ''I SEE BRATS,'' even though I know what it says. I love bratwurst.

For Anne.

Just for you - Keith

Good Maen, good people. I'm back from the first half of the 20th century. It was fun (my hair made me sing 'Hooray for Hollywood'), but today I have a lot of catching up to do.
02/Apr/16 2:20 AM
Thx DoA. Very cute, indeed.
02/Apr/16 2:21 AM
Seems close enough to me.
02/Apr/16 2:22 AM
Plum going to give me a run for it?
02/Apr/16 2:23 AM
DoA ... anybody else?

Keith, I try to avoid stepping into other people's spots.

If I recognize their claims.

First post, BOPP and TOPP are always up for grabs.
02/Apr/16 2:27 AM
Besides, I was trying to figure out what to wear. I know I used to have a Plum Fool avatar for April Folls day, but I must have gotten rid of it in the purge.
02/Apr/16 2:29 AM
The way I see it, Plum, the competition is more fun than getting ''my'' spot every time.
02/Apr/16 2:31 AM
So in order to try to ignore the sudden drop in temperature and white stuff forecast, I am commemorating the hellebores, myrtle (vinca minor) and daffodills that are all blooming along with the plants I listed earlier in the week.
02/Apr/16 2:32 AM
Well, if you insist ...

02/Apr/16 2:34 AM
I don't have a Fool's Day Avatar either. I've never been much into pranks. Some of them are kind of funny, some are entertaining, but mostly, they strike me as cruel, mean, and bullying.

Checking in after a night of roof-rattling rain. Thankfully there's no water in the basement this time ... that usually makes the house smell like eau de litter box.
02/Apr/16 2:35 AM
Oh, say, can you see ... the sailing ship in Baltimore Harbor?

I hope I'm not singing off-Key
02/Apr/16 2:37 AM
Hi, Cathy. I think that same rain rattled roofs out here earlier in the evening. Watching it at the windows from inside reminded me of going through a drive-through car wash!
02/Apr/16 2:40 AM
I hear you, Plum. Glad you were inside!
02/Apr/16 2:46 AM
We ladies at the costumed historical fiction library reception were getting ready to leave when a fresh round of thunderstorms washed the library windows and temporarily flooded the parking lot. None of us felt like being hit by lightning then drenched, so we helped 'clean up' the refreshment More...
02/Apr/16 2:53 AM
After another mini-quiche it occured to me - and, of course I shared wwith the group - that we were enacting a beginning for a mystery novel: A group of people assembled for a costume party forced from leaving by a thunderstorm ....
02/Apr/16 2:58 AM

You giving Cathy ideas Plum?

I ask only for a mention in the Acknowledggements.
02/Apr/16 3:24 AM
Or even the Acknowledgements.

Hello, Shosho. (I'm also a poet?) Is it pronounced /show-show/ or /shoe-shoe/?
