Always wonder why they can give you a senior discount at Wendy's without asking yet be asked for ID at the grocery when buying alcohol!!!!
22/Jul/11 12:08 AM
100°F predicted here today, Captain!
22/Jul/11 12:10 AM
Shiela - No jail time for thinking someone is a senior. (Though in some cases there should be.)
22/Jul/11 12:14 AM
all - beautiful day here in So. Oregon - currently 50° out - beautiful blue skies - headed for a high in the low/mid 80's. The twin fawns are romping around. Could almost say all is right with the world. Except for those d#@* noisey Vaux's Swifts in my chimney.

Idyllic, except for...Chimney Swifts!

This morning he saw a hen pheasant come into our yard, almost up to our door. She must have been looking for water. She turned around and ambled back toward the corral...until all the cats converged on her, then she flew off. I wish the cats would focus on rodents!
22/Jul/11 12:20 AM
I rememberd last night. Keith is camping with the grandies, so he is not here this week.
22/Jul/11 12:21 AM
We used to have pheasants in our area, but haven't seen one in ages. Probably due to all of their habitat in the area becoming human habitat.
22/Jul/11 12:23 AM
Good thing I didn't wait for Keith, I guess!

I think I am in the right part of the world. An occasional shower, warm enough, during the day, cool enough to sleep at night.

Today: Showers likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. Southwest wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tonight: More...

Of course I realize that the sun worshipers (future skin cancer patients) won't agree.
22/Jul/11 12:29 AM
Soooooo, are you -ing all the good weather, DOrA?
22/Jul/11 12:37 AM
Off to the ovens (A.K.A. outside) to check on our grass seed! See you later!

Put up a "youtube" of Sammie's Friends Animal Shelter (or as Phantom calls it: the Big Cat House) on my page. It's pretty quick, but shows the shelter and the people I work with.

While most of the US is in a heat wave, we are having unusually cool weather for this time of year. Sunday didn't even make it to 70°, Monday & Tuesday low 70's & rain - the low is moving out - so yesterday was 81° and today maybe 82° and by weekend the 90's (back tonormal for this time). Since this week is the County Fair - it is usually HOT as Hello or rainy.

I feel sorry for those suffering in the heat. Have you noticed that now they are giving the temp as heat index (what it feels like) rather than the actual temps. Is this to make people believe that it is warmer than it actualy is & working with Gore's goals? There is a difference between More...

It was a good show (sold out) at Britt last night "Sara Bareilles". Tonight is "Steel Pulse"/"The Wailers" - Tomorrow night a live taping of "eTown". With Britt & meetings I haven't had an evening at home all week.
22/Jul/11 12:53 AM
Vici, I enjoyed your youtube. I would take the goats and llama!
22/Jul/11 12:58 AM

Oppressive heat here. The heat index, 115°.
I would join DevilOrAngel, but I don't know how to get to "Somewhere".
22/Jul/11 12:59 AM
It really doesn't matter to me if they refer to it as the "heat index". What's a few added degrees when you are melting?
22/Jul/11 1:04 AM
I have just been to Freekibble to answer the daily quiz. They have raised over 1 billion pieces of kibble for shelter dogs and cats. That's over 5,796,936 meals served!
