Good Maen, good people. Sublime weather today. Absolutely gorgeous outside. The foliage in the dogwood trees has turned their early Fall bronze hue and the berries are on. But the katydids etc. are still singing their lazy summer song. I'd like to take today and enjoy it 300 days out of the year.

Denny, those would make a good ''fill in the blank'' poozle. Love it!

When my daughter was around 2, she made an overseas call. Rather a shock when we got the phone bill! We were pleasantly surprised when, after an explanation to a REAL person, the charge was removed. I wonder if that would happen now?

Belgium waffles with mounds of fruit slices. Oooh!

Sooo much better than this bowl of oatmeal, even though it does have fresh strawberries.

We're in the 80's here and even though that's not really hot, it's the humidity of 80% that we're not used to. And it comes sporadically so one moment you're comfortable and the next you could be sweating up a storm! Thought I was having hot flashes again!

I was told that as a toddler of two, I had not made a long distance call, no I decided that I would go there instead. I managed to escape my nanny and got in a line where tourists were boarding a bus! Luckily a neighbor saw me and told my mother.
24/Aug/12 1:16 AM
Hmm I wonder where I would have ended?
24/Aug/12 1:17 AM
I must admit when it was taking a long time to load, I left it chugging along and did something else for a few minutes. When I came back, there it was.

You can keep your oatmeal, shosho. That's one thing I've never acquired a taste for, even with loads of brown sugar stirred in ... and the strawberries would be much better without the oatmeal.

A note to all dentists--when a patient is supine in your chair, with drool escaping from the side of the mouth, that's not a good time for visitors to drop by, hover in the doorway and chat ... I'm not kidding! Anybody been there? Glad I wasn't having a Pap smear ...

On cable TV they have a weather channel -- twenty-four hours of weather a day. My mom tells me they used to have something like that where she grew up. They called it a window.

Some men make the mistake of putting their wife on a pedestal. Don't do this - then she can't reach the floor to clean.

On one issue at least, men and women agree: they both distrust women.
