Good morning all. It's a nice chilly night here - the temperature has just dipped below the zero mark (-0.4 a couple of minutes ago).

Morning all! Gloomy, rainy day here, which reflects the tone of the day. A HS classmate's son just died in Iraq. Please say a prayer for this young hero, Corporal Christopher Scherer. Thank you!

2:51 Hi to all.

Thought for the Day:

One of the most adventurous things left us is to go to bed. For no one can lay a hand on our dreams.
25/Jul/07 12:18 AM
Jeb - given that almost a page of those 3 was taken up with my singing (oh yeah and Angie's 'knock knock' jokes ........I'm glad you said 'entertaining' and not 'Funny'

25/Jul/07 12:18 AM

Goodnight all

We are having the most delightful weather today, no complaints here for the sun is out with a cool breeze blowing. Hopefully the flooded areas may have some respite from the rain.
25/Jul/07 12:20 AM
Col - why are you still up?
25/Jul/07 12:20 AM
Oh, got my answer when the page refreshed.
25/Jul/07 12:21 AM
I'm still moving mounds (since i can't say the other word) of papers around my family room.
25/Jul/07 12:22 AM
Have run out of boxes to look through in the study.
25/Jul/07 12:22 AM
And I still haven't found what i'm looking for! Hey that sounds like a good song title.
25/Jul/07 12:23 AM
Think I'll heed my horoscope, and schedule some me time - by cancelling/postponing the appointment I need the paperwork for!
25/Jul/07 12:27 AM
And now, I'm gonna follow andré's TFTD - and go to bed! Goodnight!
25/Jul/07 12:28 AM
Stella - so sorry to hear about your friend's son. My thoughts are with you all.
25/Jul/07 12:29 AM
My goodness, I haven't seen so many Aussies on the first page in a long time.
25/Jul/07 12:30 AM
Hi Bill - not on your life! I loathe hot weather (I'm presuming you're talking 35C, not 35F!)
25/Jul/07 12:30 AM
Didn't remember to post yesterday re the picture - Mr P travelled on the cog railway up to Pike's Peak last December during his visit to Colorado Springs - the weekend before he got blizzarded in!
25/Jul/07 12:31 AM
Aww - was going for a double CP! and then Anne and Chris woke up. Nah, Chris, I wouldn't swap for hot either. Got the fire roaring here!
25/Jul/07 12:33 AM

25/Jul/07 12:34 AM
Hi Anne, just one more from me and I'm following CP's and Col's lead and heading off to bed. There are even three from WA tonight in the first few postings - good to see.

Good night all.
25/Jul/07 12:35 AM
2:15 Gee, can a Canadian sneak in here? That dog has a hat face ... very cute.
25/Jul/07 12:36 AM
Good night CP and Chris.
25/Jul/07 12:38 AM
Chris - I think there are only two from West. Aust, the other one is Washington, I think.
25/Jul/07 12:39 AM
The arm in the background makes me think the hat was just placed there and won't stay long.
25/Jul/07 12:40 AM
Well, my turn to say good night and follow the other Aussies lead.

Enjoy your day!
25/Jul/07 12:44 AM
I don't think Max is old enough to remember
Michael Jordan playing basketball
(or baseball, for that matter - although I have a at least on baseball card of MJ).
25/Jul/07 12:53 AM

Stella - I am sorry to hear of the loss of one of our soldiers, please know you and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. That makes my reunion with Tom (the young man from my page, my 'other' son) this past Sunday bittersweet. He made it home safe and sound.
25/Jul/07 1:18 AM
Jeb - I assume you're talking about the men/women discourse. I had no idea what effect my original post would cause, but I, too, found it very entertaining. 25/Jul/07 1:19 AM
Stella - I, too, am sorry to hear about the death of your friend's son. Justin, one of the young men in my tennis league will be leaving for Iraq in October (he's already served a tour in Iraq and one in Afghanistan as a sharpshooter and thought he was out). He's in the Marine Reserves and was More...
