Today is my shift at the 'cat house' (Sammie's Friends Animal Shelter). I can't wait to get there and give all those deserving kitties attention. So many cats and so little time.

The guy flying the 3 kites is in his 80s, and he's from Canada. He comes to the Washington State International Kite Festival every year. His skin is like leather as he normally flies with his shirt off. He is deaf, so when he flies we hold our hands up and wave them for applause. He flies 2 with More...

Grabbed #8 for you, my little buddie!

I wonder if the name has anything to do with the texture.

Good Maen, friends!
Will need today!
Or at least part of the day... the sky is coming up pink!

Beautiful flowers! I love these flower photos, Kate! They are so different than what we see around our area of the world! (Well, actually, we don't see ANY flowers around here right now... there's snow all over the ground!)
09/Jan/13 12:28 AM
Pet all the kittens for me, Vici!
09/Jan/13 12:29 AM
Still 34 degrees at early 1am. But the southerly will save some properties from fire and put others in greater harms way ...

Stay safe, friends.

It is beginning to rain - just in time for my move between my two schools! They are calling for 2 - 7 inches of rain over the next 36 hours.

Kayo - that brightened up a dreary morning!

Hubby and I have just returned after two days in the city celebrating our anniversary. We had an amazing time and were happy to come home and see the house is still here! Thankfully there haven't been any major fire More...

Jamie, the rain was kind enough to wait till I was herding the girls out the door, then stop, only to return when we got to school. It is really just a heavy drizzle.
The girls were happy, they got to use their new umbrellas. After I got them set up, it was totally useless for me to get my umbrella.
09/Jan/13 2:00 AM
Hey, CP gets a day! I'll tell her to celebrate it with a bubble bath!
09/Jan/13 2:02 AM

Got to leave to take my grandie to school. DIL has car problems.

I can see where the waxflower gets it's name. It's lovely, and yet has a waxy appearance/

My next oral surgery is in 3 hours. I'm not expecting to get as lucky about the pain this time.
09/Jan/13 2:22 AM
What is a Joygerm, Karen?
09/Jan/13 2:26 AM
I'm with Shiela--pet all the little kitties for me too, Vici. I'd want to bring them all home, which would be a problem. (And our 18-year-old Holmes has got new vigour and a spring in his step now that he's discovered nitrate-free deli turkey ...)
09/Jan/13 2:27 AM
Heidi--
Parents always tell their kids to cough into their hands, to sneeze into Kleenex, to wash their hands before they eat, not to touch their mouth to the water fountain... Why? So they don't catch or spread germs. National JoyGerm Day is dedicated to the one type of germ everyone is encouraged to spread: The JoyGerm!

Ah, June is here. I'll ask my question.
Would anyone know why, when June sends answers to my inbox, there is nothing in the ''message box''? Has this happened to anyone before? Not including when you actually forget to More...
