Florida Snapping Turtle at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary

The Florida sub-species of the Common Snapping Turtle has tubercles on its neck which its northern cousins lack. This one is eating pellets tossed into the "Turtle Pond," which is connected to wild water so wild turtles can come and go as they please. Summer 2009
