Florida Keys Hurricane Memorial, Islamorada Key Florida USA

The Florida Keys have suffered many hurricanes, and the one in 1935 was particularily savage. The memorial reads: "Dedicated to the memory of the civilians and war veterans whose lives were lost in the hurricane of September Second, 1935." The cremated remains of over 100 of those killed remain unknown, and are buried in the base of the memorial.
