No time for cuddles today, John.

Hello John & Amelia!
Beautiful day here. It has cooled off and the air conditioning is finally off. Ahhhhh!
24/Aug/10 12:02 AM
A nice red camellia. My bushes still have a lot of flowers.
24/Aug/10 12:03 AM
Good Maen, all! Would you mind blowing a little of that cool air down this way, Shiela?
24/Aug/10 12:03 AM
Goodness - I submitted that photo years ago!

2:45 Good evening all. Beautiful camellia.
Made lots of mistakes but we had a power black-out an hour ago and it hasn't long come back one. Either something collided with a power post or there is a storm between here and the power station 300kms away.

Good morning people of the world.
I am with Jane, Shelia could you share your cool air. We are cooling off today, only 105.

I had to do Little Plum's chores as she was overnight working at her grandparents, trying to earn money. I do her dirty work and she gets paid? Still, it was nice spending chore time with Faun.

While outside I heard a train whistle in the distance punctuating the summer chorus of insects and frogs. I love train whistles. I heard the neighbors' kids outside playing and only a few cars. I heard the chuffling of deer deep in the woods. Life in the country is SO nice.

No time to mourn the big girl that went to school this morning. Of all mornings to over sleep, today was not the day to it. We did make it on time, though. I had a really big girl on the way to school, but when we entered she seemed like a little tiny girl. Thing II is missing her sister and is going around the house calling "Yen-da" poor girl.

It was downright cool last night and this morning. It's only the mid-60s now. It would be chilly if it weren't for the humidity. It's just still and overcast and comfortable. I'd like to take this morning and preserve it to revisit.

Going to bed early is not working for me (mind you, neither is going to bed late). I was feeling utterly wiped out, but the minute my head hit the pillow, my brain woke up and now won't let me sleep.

HI all! My weekend puzzler was a hard one and it showed!! Only one completely correct answer from Neil, but two very good tries from Kathy and Shannon, neither of whom have heard of the very cute little dabchick! Of course as those two didn't manage to get all the answers I was duly treated to More...

I've been up again for an hour now. I've finished a samurai sudoko, read my book and played a computer game as well as having 2 hot miks. Soon I'll try going back to bed.

Here's today's one; answers to the Egyptian inbox please!
In these Word Pyramids, the first letter is given to you (which is the first answer). Use the clues to build the pyramid to find the answer. In each consecutive answer, a letter is added to the previous answer. However, the answer letters More...

I suppose a little S&M is good for the soul, now and again . I did come up with the five answers, I just admitted I had to google around for that darn dabchick ...c'mon Neil, admit it, you did too....

Happy Monday!
Eileen: Lovely camellia! From your garden?
24/Aug/10 12:49 AM
A hummingbird just hovered in the window right by my monitor. We looked at each other for a while. Today is a day of absolute bucolic late summer splendor. You're all invited over to share it!
24/Aug/10 12:52 AM
WooHoo! Great morning of posting! Good Maen all!
24/Aug/10 12:54 AM
Plum, I've been sitting out on the front porch (putting off chores) watching quite the feisty battle between three hummingbirds. I have on a bright colored t-shirt so one of them keeps buzzing me.. He needs to realize there is nothing sweet about me in the morning
24/Aug/10 12:58 AM
What a perfect Camelia!
24/Aug/10 12:58 AM
Thank you for an easy puzzle for a Monday morning (well, it's morning here), Fiona!!
24/Aug/10 1:01 AM
How was the kayaking? I was envying you when you posted about that.
24/Aug/10 1:01 AM
Perfect morning for running! Although there weren't the usual zoological friends out to greet me. Bummer. But the heart pumping was worth it.
24/Aug/10 1:01 AM
Plum - I'm about ready for bucolic. It's still hot and humid here which ordinarily I would love, but since there's been a jellyfish invasion the past several days, we can't swim right now!!! And when you take the ocean away from the hot/humid equation, I am not a happy camper.
24/Aug/10 1:03 AM
My bush is loaded with pink ones.
24/Aug/10 1:04 AM
Beautifully symmetric flower!

24/Aug/10 1:10 AM
Jane, some family were in the Outer Banks a few weeks ago and said the jellyfish were a major problem. They were told that everything's been pushed up the coastline because of the oil spill...
24/Aug/10 1:12 AM
Seems my mind went there too.
