Maybe Baz was trailing because he couldn't pass due to oncoming traffic and curves in the road ahead which he couldn't see because he was tailgating. Looks like an accident about to happen.

..of equal interest at first was 'What are they doing on the right hand side of the road in Australia?' until I did the puzzle and realised it's a dual carriageway. That raises the question of 'Why was Baz tailgating in the first place?'

Bev, is it a dual carriageway? Does not look so to me, perspective is wrong.

Baz was tailgating because it's a national pastime in Australia. He was in the right lane because you can drive in any lane you like in Australia.

Baz was tailgating because the slower-moving log truck should have been in the left lane, leaving the right lane for faster-moving traffic. He still shouldn't have been tailgating, though.

I wonder if Baz realises his misdemeanor was snapped and posted for the world to see?

As for me - the more I miss, da meaner I gets...

My guess is that timber-jinker was traveling quicker than the left lane and Baz was taking advantage of the slipstream.
