What a shame - Agar out for 98! Hi everyone.

G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
safecracker — no-fat bread wafer

...and here's today's factoid:
Napoleon gave a common bread its name when he demanded a loaf of dark rye bread for his horse during the Prussian campaign. 'Pain pour Nicole,' he ordered, which meant 'Bread for More...

Good Maen

1:22 - had to go quickly so I can get back to the cricket! Good night all.

Good Maen, good people. I've got a strange computer problem. My phone line and DSL was fixed yesterday - they pulled in a repair guy from 3 hours away - but now my laptop won't connect to the DSL. Every other device in the house does fine with it. I'd say something was wrong with my laptop, but it connects to other wifi and it connects just fine to the DSL with an Ethernet cable. I'm stumped.

Today would be a good day to go to the beach here as well. Instead, we're going for a walk.

I learned a lot from offering this poozle and watching people struggle with it. I truly did not expect it to be as difficult as you all found it to be. From playing the game over the years, I’ve been aware that it is easier to make one up, answer first with an appropriate definition to follow, More...

It's a great weather day in SE Michigan as well!
12/Jul/13 12:11 AM
Plum, restart your wifi access point (or router, whichever it is.)
12/Jul/13 12:12 AM

Dont be put off Keith, I love the idea of your poozles, and seeing the answers has told me I was at least on the right track!!! Look forward to another one of these in the not too distant future....

Now look whose giving advice
12/Jul/13 12:23 AM

Keith I had Swish/Swash for #2 so not correct but I thought of the sound. As Lizzie said don't be put off as we now know what you wanted. I was thinking along the lines of phrases not dual clues. Next time eh??
12/Jul/13 12:30 AM

Ah. My problem was trying to come up with words that were synonyms for the words you gave us, then trying to change just one vowel, Keith. For example, I didn't think of ''beer'' for ''drinking''. I was trying to work with More...
12/Jul/13 12:32 AM
I agree, Keith. Some of us just had the wrong idea. Now that we know the drill, bring 'em on!
12/Jul/13 12:37 AM
Oh, I started it, Keith - I just have been having these computer issues. For #1 I was going to answer 'DRUNK SKUNK.' I figured when I got a synonym for sleigh that sounded like a synonym for bell or jangle I'd start a PM and hook up my computer for more - but it never happened. I was making it harder than it was (a particular failing of mine.)
12/Jul/13 12:39 AM
I was trying to work with ''sled'' on #2!
But, yes, it sure got the old brain cells excited!
12/Jul/13 12:40 AM

Don't forget Greg's poozel is on the last page yesterday
12/Jul/13 12:40 AM

Which brain cell Kathy.
12/Jul/13 12:41 AM
Keith, I tried really hard - but only got #s 2 and 3 and didn't want to submit a partial answer. I thought that both words had to be defined by the clue (so I was, for example, trying to find 2 words that could mean a drinking animal with only 1 vowel exchange). Hopefully next time I'll be more successful!
12/Jul/13 12:42 AM
Plum, I had a lot of good answers IF I could change a letter other than a vowel.
12/Jul/13 12:42 AM
The one on the left, Mr. Cee.

My work is done. I had better go Whilst I am ahead.

Good morning people of the world.

Well, my fear of over sleeping this morning, to get my girls to the library summer reading program, was a waste of time.
We were early. Very early. Way early, like 10 days early. The sign on the front of the building says the 20th, the sign up papers say the 20th, the website says the 10th. Guess, which one I went by?
12/Jul/13 12:55 AM
Hey, Chris - thanks for the offer of advice. Tried that. I have had the DSL modem/wifi router on and off several times, same with rebooting my computer.

I've run the troubleshooting diagnostic that comes with the laptop, but I'm not techie enough to read the results and get anything out More...

Tried to register Shelby with the city, we are only 6 weeks late, but turns out I do need her vaccination papers. I do have them, they are packed in a box, marked 'Important papers.' I have no idea where that box is located. Actually, I do, the box is in the garage. Somewhere.
12/Jul/13 12:58 AM
Aw, Karen, bad luck on that reading program snafu--I can put things on four calendars and still mess up an appointment like nobody's business.

Perfect weather day here!
12/Jul/13 1:10 AM
Um, Karen ... I can't guess which one you went by -- because today's the 11th!
12/Jul/13 1:12 AM
Re-posting to save you having to go back
An easy one for a change. All curtails,
1. Suspicious –> Peter likes to do this
2. Husband and wife –> Check
3. Remorse –> Where orchestras sit
4. City neighbour –> Not a city
5. Andrew Lloyd Wright musical –> Felix
6. More...

Yep, Cathy. I have my day book, calendar, reminder pop ups on the computer and sometimes my phone reminder, and still mess up.

Went back to the website to see how I could be so off on the date. I really could understand be off on the time, but 10 days early, was boggling me. So, I went back More...
12/Jul/13 1:18 AM
Yeah, Kathy. I would have eventually reread the instructions. It was a glance and go and I was too distracted by the internet thing. Still am. Ugh. I have phone calls to make. At least the phone is working again. Evidently the line (which is buried under an indoor and outdoor cement slab, a More...

Thank you, Plum. As my last post said, I need help. Well, not in those words.
It is still Cheer Up the Lonely Day. Good thing I did not go by numbers, I just moved my eyes over from yesterday.
Wonder if the girls would like to go back to bed and try the day over again?
12/Jul/13 1:21 AM
While growing up it seemed inconceivable that life really does come at you in the form of story problems.
12/Jul/13 1:25 AM
I'm all for rebooting the day, Karen. It's just that if I could do a day, it's tempting to go back futher than a day to reboot. I sometimes idly wonder how far back and to what point I'd reboot if I could. Those are good thoughts to send a person off to dreamland.

Little Plum is suffering through a bit of a summer cold - or is it allergies? She was sipping tea to help her throat and drank too much caffeine. She was up all night until 6 a.m. then only slept 4-1/2 hours. Now we're all miserable with her. Not because we have the same symptoms, but because More...

Good people of the US, REMEMBER to go to your local 7-Eleven store for a FREE Slurpee today. It is July 7th - 7/11. Take the family.
12/Jul/13 1:41 AM
Think I will or I am just allowed to go back to bed and get out on the other side. Girls are in fine form this morning. One has a mean streak flowing through her and the other has a whine streak. I do not care for either one of these streaks. One of my main 'Mother's Rules,' is to never wake the More...
