appy & all! Happy Independence Day to India & all her citizens. I keep wondering about our old friend Sweta (creator of the abbreviation "maen"). I have not heard from her since before her daughter's wedding.
We are back from our summer week at Fripp Island. I've posted some pics on my Flickr page.

all another really hot day here. It is almost best to be in B-day attire. Thank you for the wishes - I'll get to your pages. Tonight I'll be at Britt celebrating by working the Classical Concert featuring Midori (not in by B-day attire). Last night it was near 90 at 9:30.

Interesting shot. Yes, it does kind of look like a black and white picture have been superimposed. Is the colorful one a lorakeet?

Here's today's one - not too difficult I think! (In other words I can do it!)
Complete the word square by inserting the 9 letters into the grid, to create the same words reading down & across.

Today, le Quinze Aout, is Assumption Day and therefore a national holiday here in France. There is a 'round the clock' live celebration of Johnny Halliday 200 metres from where I live. Luckily we have double glazing. They are also 'special tuning' motorbikes. It all ends tomorrow night after the usual enormous feast and river fireworks.
16/Aug/08 12:47 AM
You've got Johnny Halliday,Mo, think yourself lucky - you know what's just down the road from here, don't you! Busy busy day at the grotto!
16/Aug/08 12:50 AM

I'm going have to go to another meeting today all because my beginning teacher forgot her papers Wednesday! Argh! Kids!
16/Aug/08 12:51 AM
Kathy - loved seeing your turtle pictures!
16/Aug/08 12:53 AM
Eve - you weren't in the birthday box yesterday, but folks in the know were telling us it was your day - just wanting to know so I can offically send you some birthday goodies!
16/Aug/08 12:54 AM
GMo - as usual...I love stopping by to see Sammikins. Such a cutie! Love the spotted belly. Your gallery is particularly colorful!

In the Roman Catholic calendar, Aug 15th is the day Mary was "assumed body and soul into heavenly glory". As she then put in a few appearances in Lourdes several centuries later, it is THE place to be today - and as it's about a stone and a half's throw from here, you can imagine it's busy!
16/Aug/08 12:59 AM
We also have the Pope coming next month, so my question for today is this - has anyone on here ever seen a Pope for real, be it the current one or a past one?
