Many thanks to all my friends who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. It wasn't the happiest of birthdays because my lovely daughter is stuck in hospital, my son who, on a Sunday, had to work right through until midnight and my other son and has family live 1000km away in Melbourne. So Anne and I made the most of it and had a lovely lunch by ourselves at a local restaurant.

Good morning.

Sorry your birthday day was so quiet, Ian - but lovely that you and Anne enjoyed a nice lunch.

It was another very frosty morning here today, but we're nice and warm inside, and the sun has jusy made an appearance.

Morning everyone, as CP has said it is very cold here. The firies had to fight a house fire near here and they weren't too effective as they might have been as the water froze in the hoses. How do they solve that in the really cold places where some of you live.

My computer is very slow this moprning, I don't think it is the cold weather, but I hope it gets better.

I've been inspired by Hal's poetry, so here is a less than perfect effort.
There once was a young man called Hal,
Beloved of every gal,
They showered him with affection,
But I guess I should mention,
For those wanting to know,
That was ages ago,
And as clear as it seems,
That was only in his dreams.

Don't forget you still have until noon to submit the answer to Saturday's poozle.
03/Jul/17 10:21 AM
I had to switch ISPs to get any action, and a CP of course.
03/Jul/17 10:22 AM
...and only in his dreams - good one, Wombat!
03/Jul/17 12:29 PM
Wombat starts off with a limerick,
Then changes abruptly to iambic.
I'm not really sure,
If his intensions are pure,
So pardon me if I suddenly get sick.

Just kidding, of course.

And before he has a chance to pillory me...
Night all.
03/Jul/17 12:46 PM
But first...

A 33 to help me sleep.

Mrs Wombat, has just returned from shopping. She met a friend whose husband suffers from dementia. He has to sit on a bench outside the supermarket while she does the shopping. Recently she emerged from the supermarket to find he had disappeared. She enlisted some volunteers to help but without More...

Wombat, your story reminds me of this old yarn........

A couple from Canberra drove to the local supermarket, only to have their car break down in the car park.

The man told his wife to carry on with the shopping while he fixed the car.

The wife returned later to see a More...
