I tried to do the US flag with its stars and stripes the old Sudoku way but gave up, still I got the 50 stars, and learned a lot about the US flag through Wikipedia in the process!

Earlier mentioned Melons for salad. For the 4th - of course watermelon, don't forget the Canalope, Honeydew, Casaba, etc. Add the fresh pineapple, strawberries, grapes and other fruits. Top it off with Fruit Salad Dressing. Just posted my mothers' recipe.
