Good morning. Sunny, clear and dry; cold for us at 11°F, about -11°C. No comparison to the Midwest, though.
Good morning everyone. Sunny and cold. Very cold. -2 F windchill -15. Have to bundle up to go out soon.
2:38 Maen Ugly ducklings no more...
Yesterday's tough puzzle was a true monster. A detailed proof of that puzzle is under construction.

A link to this page will appear later in the upper right column, directly under 'Check out the Sudoku Blog'.
2:25 Good evening everyone
What beautiful white swans, a bit different to our black swans here.
-20 here today with light snow
They are not Australian Swans !
Maen all! Cold and cloudy this morning. Hard to think of swans and ducks swimming around when everything is frozen. It reminds me of summer.
Good Morning, It’s February 7, 2007. February 7 is the 38th day of the year in the Gregorian Calendar. There are 327 days remaining (328 in leap years). On this day in 1984 aboard Space Shuttle program’s STS-41-B Mission, Astronauts Bruce McCandless II and Robert L. Stewart made the first More...
Hello everyone, swan lake perhaps. Hope everyone is feeling ok. Len (M) & Ian (B) I don't envy you one little bit, brrr too cold for me. Cheers
1:55 My personal best! I started with the 9's today and worked my way down to 1.
3:17 Lets hope my day gets better..

Thought for the Day:

Count your life by smiles, not tears.
Count your age by friends, not years.
Hi all! Another frigid day here. Today's actual temp -15F, with the wind chill it feels like -32. 121 school districts canceled school yesterday in our 'news area'. Today, many more are canceled or delayed, but not ours even though we are colder than most others that have canceled.
2:09 Maen
André - it will! hey - I had the ultimate hot hocolate drink today (even though it was 30 degrees - not the drink - that was scalding hot - daytime temp), it was an astonishing discovery. A bit miffed that I had to pay $6 but gosh it was worth it, even the indigestion I suffered from it was worth it. So think positive darls, you're day could turn out to be awesome too!
2:07, Maen,it's 43F headed up to 71F. This is Texas winter, one week high of 31 the next in the 70's. 16 year old son has driven his car to school for one week now with no problems. It was interesting to see him and a friend from church get in the car to go eat. He's known her since they were 3 now their grown up and flirting.
A new supermarket opened near my house. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you approach the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and experience the scent of fresh hay.
Going back to something said whilst I slept. When Steve and I arrived Chez Billy last november. The said Billy cooked us a lovely supper that first evening - and staying in had nothing to do with the amount of G&T consumed either. She is a brilliant hostess, as is Anne from Albany, and we count More...
4:12 out of practice...Swans are beautiful creatures!!
BILL from Texas, that was funny, a good laugh before I retire for the night.
You may not have live white swans in Australia but did you know that the stone swans that adorn Fremantle railway station as the state emblem are white!
I'm not exactly sure what a toaster front is. I usually find the side more interesting, because that is where the dial with the settings is. Today I will make myself some raisin toast again.
Hi everyone and nice mAen to all.
Nice picture and beautiful swans.
Maen all. After weeks of snow and cold, it will be around 60 degrees F here just below the
Rockies. Skiing however is great. Get out here now for great powder!
Ohhhhh. Front. As in the first line of an army of toasters, proceeding in formation. What a beautiful image.
Good night Billy and Mo.
(snore)! (snore)!
But I still don't get it.
Cygnus olor, AKA Mute Swan. Originally native to Europe, but widely introduced through North America as well. Red/orange bill w/black tip and lump at the base is characteristic.
some facts..
The Earth weighs around 6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons (5,940 billion billion metric tons)!
ok fine..but who weighed it? if so how??and what was the reference used??any idea/
Toaster front. He basically means that he is useless at making toast.
When nelson Mandela was elected Prime Minister he made a state visit to the U.K. Included was a reception at Former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher's country manor and a tour of the stables. The reception was somewhat chilly as the hostess considered him a terrorist. In the stable a horse broke More...
Nice picture of the swans! For some reason this puzzle seemed to take me forever! Anyhow it is about 3* here in NW Pennsylvania but I do see a hint of the sun out there! YAY! Blessings to all!
Bill from Texas: What part of Texas? My hubby and I will be in South Padre Island next week on vacation. Sure hope you can provide some warmer temps than the -2F we have here today.
Love the swans - there is a small family in the harbor where we keep our boat.
2:10. Maen to all.
1:43 - Finally beat Fred from Michigan! 40 below with the wind chill.
1:57 Cold here, too, but sunny. I won't complain--I've been waiting for winter.
Good Tuesday Maen, all!

Supposed to be 73 deg F today--good weather for my son and the school orchestra. They will be performing at Disneyland for the Disney Community Arts Showcase today. They were one of the groups chosen for this event (had to send in a CD with the application).

I will be doing Jury Duty in about an hour...
And today's Mom update:
Surgery went well last Friday. She will be in a skilled nursing facility for about a week, getting shots to prevent blood clots and having physical therapy. She is happy there is cable TV (something she doesn't have normally) and a good roommate.
3.24 slower than slow
Good Maen! I think I should have tried a different solving strategy, like beginning with the 9's. I have worked the puzzle three times now and have not been able to do it in under three minutes. Pretty picture in the end though
