Florida Stick Insects

These two (yes, two, look carefully) stick insects were on my screened enclosure. The larger one, the female, was over five inches long and was one of the longest insects I have ever seen.

I think my felt-pen picture expresses considerable artistic licence compared to this imprssive photographic study. Also maybe my representation is was more of a 'stick insect' in the sense of being an 'insect on a stick'; rather than being 'an insect that looks like a stick'. The only certain conclusion may be that the issue is a 'sticky problem'.
