Lesser Yellowlegs in Winter Plumage

On the Intercoastal Waterway side of the Florida Oceanographic Society's lands on Hutchinson Island, Florida, I saw this Lesser Yellowlegs. It is the only time I have ever seen this species and so I initially thought I had seen Spotted Sandpiper - but there were those yellow legs, and bigger size. While reviewing photos for a project, I realized I had seen a new "life bird." November, 2009

I had to change the species attribution on this one.
I will now change it from "Spotted Sandpiper" to "Lesser Yellowlegs"
