Is that a pair Sacky ? Perhaps the solid colour one being the male, it does look a little larger.

My research tells me the lighter one is a juvenile.adults are dark brown to almost black. The Tasmanian eagles have been isolated from the mainland ones and are now a sub species.

Silly me. I read your comment, saying they were eagles, and went to gallery, and all I saw, for most recent is chickens. Well, you know we have same words, for different stuff, I thought, you were calling chickens, eagles, but something happened in my head, and remembered you call them chooks, I think. Well, then some of the morning fuzzies, cleared, and said, 'Oh, those are not chickens.'
Thanks for sharing.

Good morning Karen. I looked again at the eagles, and yes they do look like a pair of roosters. Only these are about a metre tall and efficient killers. I loved your message. Thank you!

Maybe a father (or mother?) teaching the son to hunt? Looks like there are LOTS of feathers on their legs. Great photo, Sacky.

Beautiful, Sacky. They mate for life, only go looking for a new mate if the partner dies!
