They probably have other breaks during the year as well. We get a week or so at Christmas, a week in February, and a week in spring, usually in April.

Can only talk about Perth School year here:

there's an old, quick formula for figuring out presidential election years in the United States. If the last two digits are divisible by four, it's an eletion year (1912, 1936, etc.,). Drop the zero here (because it's 40 posts per page), and if the last two digits are divisible by 4, it's time for a new page. At least I think that's right.

We're very accommodating here Topper. We don't want to be selfish about the Topp. But watch out when everyone starts catching up!

Rola, that would be the bright thing to do! I never use the calc on the computer so I didn't think of it.

That's my problem too, Stella. So I just look for the next zero, and see if the 2 digits behind that are divisible by four. Dividing by four is something I can (heaven be praised,) do in my head.

Yes, dividing a small number would be a quick and easy way to figure it.

good to be able to do your times tables..
does make it easier to work out things...
except when the brain matter isn't working too good..
for example. late at night, or first thing in the morning.... etc

3310 is the next one that ends in zero. 31 is not divisible by 4. 3{32} [0] is, though.

Kids today don't know how to do math without a calculator. A math teacher told me that we are bc (before calculator) and kids are ac (after calculator). They are so used to it that they can't even do the simple math without it!

3200 was the bottom of a page, 3300 would not be, 3(30)0, 4 does not go into 30.
