June, your pressure cooker cannot be older than mine. I got it in 1961! I was 18 and just married, and I think it was a wedding gift! have kept it well maintained, replaced the rubber gasket and rubber around the vent twice I think. Well, Al has done it for me, so it is still in good, safe working order. I prefer it to a slow cooker, cook it fast and be through hehehe. I use it often. Gee, it will be 50 years old next year.

I got mine in the sixties but later than you. I have replaced the rubber gasket 3 0r 4 times but I had not used it for ages and the gasket perished at one stage and I am not sure how well it seals now.. I did manage to spray the ceiling with stewed apricots once! It does make a good large heavy based pot though.

Morning all!
Happy Birthday Scott!!
It sounds like you're having a wonderful time. I am happy for you.
MizT, hubby would love some good old fashioned American biscuits right now! Me too! Has the pain in your hand stayed much reduced today? I hope so. Happy Birthday to your sister!!
I'm a Friday the 13th baby too. Same day as Mitchell actually. Well, you know what I mean.
June, I hope the birthday party goes well with no fights or injuries and lots of fun.
Oops, gotta go. Ebob has been called in to work early.

Suzy, I forgot that you had the same birthday as Mitchell. I did not know that you were also born on a friday. Even funnier, I found out I was pregnant with him on April 1st (April Fool's Day) At first my family thought I was joking but very quickly realized it was not a joke.

I tell everyone that I am 29 and my mom is 39.
My mom worked in the office of a condominium when I became pregnant. The average age of the tenants of the building was about 80. When I gave birth, my mom took 2 weeks maternity leave. When she got back, people asked where she was so she told them she became a grandmother. They did not believe her, they thought she was too young. She told one lady that she got married at 12 and kept a straight face. The woman believed her and her coworkers had all they could do to keep from laughing.

You didn't say your mother was married at 8, just that she had you at 8 so I guess she was naughty also.
You do remember me telling my students that I was 29 and they figured out I had to be 16 when I had Mitchell. Still not sure if they believed me or not.

I'm not sure how much they're helping. The lump on the gum hasn't grown any more, but I am still feeling a lot of sinus pressure and I feel too hot most of the time. But I've only been on them for 2 days, and it's a 20 day treatment.

Your lawnmower looks like it stayed out in the sun and faded, Heidi hehehe. Mine is BRIGHT red! Mine needs a driver again soon, Not sure I want to try again since last time was not fun. Hubby has sinus and sore throat, and not feeling like mowing. Besides, it has been wet for 3 days now. That only makes the green stuff grow faster.
Soup was delish for dinner tonight. Theresa, wish you had flown on down to share a bowl.
Still a long way to post 12345, I am not staying up to claim in. Would not have niticed it if Heidi had not mentioned.
Tami, enjoy your last day of summer vacation!
Suzy, I know what your avatar is, but on occasion I still have to do a double take to see it.
My sister the recent birthday girl had a twin brother. The twins turned 13 on Friday the 13th!! We had a spooky party for them. They were not born on Friday, but I was. Does not count when it is not the 13th I guess hehehe.
Bedtime, med time, snack time, hummm I think I have that order all wrong. See you tomorrow.

G'Day, Everyone! Past 10:30 p.m. and just getting here to read. Hubby decided to go to bed (computer is in bedroom) and just asked, "What's the noise?" It was my typing. Shh, everyone type quietly, please.
Hi, Heidi, Gail, Suzy, June, MizTricia, Theresa, Broni and Tami!
Heidi, I hope IH let you sleep in this morning!
Gail, I'm so glad you and hubby are having a chance to get away to enjoy his family reunion! Hope your hubby has enjoyed a VERY happy birthday!
Did he have a cake
to share with everyone at the reunion?
Suzy, so glad Ebob struck out the player who didn't think girls should be allowed to play baseball! He got what he deserved! You have a couple of very special D's there!
June, what a super grandma you are to include the farm animals on Laura's cake AND find a way to include the strawberries she requested at the last minute. I hope she has a wonderful and memorable birthday! Happy Birthday, Laura!
MizT, I'm glad you're taking a day or two off from exercises and giving the shot a chance to do its work! Hope you're feeling much better now! I bet your kitchen smelled terrific today! Guess I'm too late to drop by for dinner. Belated Happy Birthday wishes to your sister!
Theresa, thanks for sharing the Jeff Foxworthy tidbit!
Broni, thank you for thinking of my friends! I hope you enjoy your bright sunny day! I hope the temperature will be just right!
MizT & June, I have never had a pressure cooker but well remember my Mom's! I wonder which of my siblings got it - or if it was passed to a cousin or sold in the auction.
I wonder if I'll remember Suzy's or Mitchell's birthday when the time comes - or even that they share a birthdate! Really, sometimes I think I'm hopeless! I don't even remember to check the "Members Birthdays Today" notice that Gath has provided!
I still haven't taken enough time to figure out the initial list. Well, I have some of them, but not all.
Tami, I hope you enjoy your "summer vacation"!
Heidi, I am not going to be trying for #12345, as I forget to check the number. I'm lucky to remember which page we're on! I hope you will soon be able to get the lawn mowed - or convince someone else to do it for you!
I need to check email, but will be back shortly, I hope!
Warm hugs and positive vibes for everyone!

Afternoon all!
The wind has come up today. It can get very windy around this time of year here. Not fun.
Julie, how is your husband doing? Is the surgery definitely cancelled? And if I remembered that incorrectly I'm sorry, but if you think you are hopeless you should try living with my brain! I think some of the initials list is only translatable by the people they refer to because the actual people aren't on site... I have actually made myself up a key so I don't forget!
MizT, I love the idea of the spooky party! Now that I'm older I don't even notice it's Friday the 13th unless someone brings it up. Boring sod that I am...
Heidi, Ally has another video on youtube. Well, her friends do. A group of them were messing around in the music room at lunch time, one of them recorded it and put it on youtube. It's the worst recording ever! But that's okay, they had fun doing it. Apparently her mother has been spelling her nickname wrong her whole life, it is apparently supposed to be Alie. What do mothers know?

Tami, my mother, at 8, was obviously the victim of some sleeze bag, your mother was a whole lot older!
The latest exploits of Nomnom. Apparently there was something fascinating on the other side of the bathroom door, which was open, but rather than walk all the way around to it Nomnom decided that reaching underneath the door was a much better idea. She learned today that when you reach ALL of your leg under a door it is likely to get stuck and all of the screeching and howling in the world won't unstick it.

Party went well and the cake was a success. There were tears when some else blew out the candles before Laura could. Finally calmed her down and lit them again. There were lots of small animals for them to hold and feed. Laura even got to have a ride on a donkey.( a change from riding a horse). I came home tired out!!!
All you young ones in your 40's, remember my three children are also in their 40's!!!!! (and I was more than 8/10 when they were born!)

June, how sad that someone blew the candles out first!! But it seems to happen at least once to everyone. I'm glad the party went so well and that Laura liked her cake. I am forever in my 40s June, I'm not going to get any older, I've decided. How I'm going to explain kids born before I was I have no idea...

Mitchell's birthday is the same time of year as Chanukah. When he was little it was hard to explain that he could blow out his birthday candles, but not the Chanukah candles.

Rolanda, thank you for the link, I enjoyed seeing some of the exhibit. Did you exit the film with ashes in your hair?
June, so glad Laura liked her cake. Now just who blew out her candles? Glad the relighting of candles satisfied her and hushed her tears.
Suzi, Mom's are the last to know. Alie/Ally, I think I like your spelling best. Poor Nomnom, getting stuck with paw under door. Who came to the rescue?? I hope your windy weather subsides some to become gentle refreshing breezes.
Today will not be as cool as yesterday it seems, although it is hazy/cloudy and that will keep the temps a bit more moderate. NOW if only we could rid ourselves of this humidity, like walking under water. If each of you would take a tiny bit . . . . .
Heidi, I can count the times Al has mowed the grass, without getting into higher mathematics. His reasoning? I LIKE cutting grass hehehe. Close, I like seeing the lawn fresh cut, but would be most happy if another did the cutting. I have never seen an orange Husqvarna mower, so I had to tease you a bit.
Time for breakfast, hugs to all and extras.

Good morning all ... healing vibes and hugs going out to all who need them. You are in my thoughts.
Well, we had some excitement for a rainy Sunday morning. I went outside with my coffee about an hour ago (the rain had subsided) and I saw a young man leaving the neighbour's yard by climbing a 6 foot wooden fence. I let them know and the police were called, I had to give a description. Seems he removed a gas can from the yard ... police are looking for him but it's doubtful they'll find him. They suspect it might be a stolen car he was in that ran out of gas. Good deed done for the day ... can I go back to bed now?
One of my cats woke me up just before 6:00 this morning. He is a huge white boy and he was "making bread" on my side. Because of his weight, it hurts. I rolled over and he bit my back twice ... actually it was just a nip. I usually feed them at 5:30 AM but this morning thought I'd sleep in ... yeah, right! I guess he was just letting me know it's breakfast time.
