June, I think it was pretty amazing we could talk from so far away, too. I love to listen to you talk, that Aussie accent that you do not have hehehe is lovely.
I have read this page only now. I need to scroll back and see what the egg, and carrot and coffee beans, sounds interesting.
Heidi, yes, you were the adult among the 3 of you. Never expect Gil to do a thing adult, or thinking of others. He thinks himself so 'special' him and his new heart throb would be welcome anywhere. Sorry you were the one who had to do the right thing, still. Perhaps George would welcome a visit later. So many people who came to Al's funeral thought their duty ended there, never visited me in the days and weeks after when they would have been most welcome.
Suzy, sorry to hear about 2 more skin cancers. the nose is a hard place to have them. I have had nearly as many as you have had removed, only 2 on my face (I wore hats a lot in the sun) Most of mine were on upper chest, shoulders and upper back, where I got a 'mommie's tan' taking the girls to the pool every summer. My father kept us from the mid day sun. Not that he know how damaging it could be later, no one did. It was because we would sunburn easily, then complain of the hurt. He did not want to hear the complaints, so therefore kept us from midday sun. Thanks Dad, how much worse the skin cancers would have been if you had let us out in the sun.
Heidi, hope you are better from your flu like symptoms soon. On top of my back problems (I must remember to get to my new chiropractor before back gets so bad, he has helped a lot) I have had tummy problems for over a month now. doc put me on a trial of prilosec, an acid blocker, for a trial, helped some, but not a cure yet.
At last maintenance has resolved the AC leaking water to my carpet (took 3 tries, carpet and rug wet 3 times), and then had both carpet and rug cleaned, they also coaxed more cool air into my apartment, by removing 2 baffles from the unit, and my using a fan on a stand to blow the cool air around the living area. I can even cook in comfort except on bad heat wave days, so I am a happy camper. I just had to put a shawl around shoulders, it is sooo cool here
.
More hugs to all, catch you later. I need to find a way to connect smart phone to my wi fi, changing modems erased my connection to that, bummer. cure one thing, create another problem. I know, first world problems, but I am paying for this, I therefore think it should work!!

Tami, no worries, I didn't originate it, anyway. I heard the ''dash'', at a funeral for a friend, some years back. It, too, is a 'keeper'...
Julie, the 'jelly' is actually a 'seedless fruit spread'. It maybe a local item. COLUMBIA EMPIRE FARMS 'Marion Blackberry'. I got it at COSTCO...

Hi MizT! It's great to see you here. I'm sorry your daughter has to budget so hard to afford her meds. That doesn't happen often here, though it still happens. My most expensive one is $37 after gov/national health rebates. The other 3 are about $10 each. I was briefly on the bereavement allowance and could get all 4 for about $25. Sigh.
Alie just texted dana to check on me because I didn't immediately answer her text. I was in the bathroom and didn't hear it. It's kind of nice how over protective they are, but also kind of annoying.
DorA, we have seedless spreads too. In my house they were still considered to be 'jams' though that's not what the labels said. I am a country bumpkin....
Heidi, I've never been to a rodeo though one does come to town a couple of times a year.

Hi, Everyone!
:Heidi, I hope you are feeling better and recovering from the flu!
Suzy, what a wonderful experience for Dana and your grandies to go to the dedication of the field. They may not understand now, but how wonderful to grow up knowing how well respected your grandfather was and how many people appreciated his efforts on behalf of others. There is a field dedicated to hubby's father at the high school where he taught for many years. He passed before we had children, so it means a lot to our children, and now to their children as they begin to understand. What a wonderful gesture! Your hubby was a very special person, not only to family, but to others in the community! You should all be very proud!
June, I hope the weather will be mild in Melbourne and hope you have a wonderful visit with your grandsons! What a very sweet and special thing to do - giving your special watch to Laura. It will be something to cherish for years to come!
Welcome Back, MizT! We have certainly missed you! I hope all will be well for you and for your D as she gets back on her feet and regains some of her independence. Wishing the best for both of you!
MizT, it's good to know that your AC is providing some cooling without the puddles of water on the floor! I hope your back and tummy will soon be feeling better.
DOrA, the Columbia Empire Farms Marion Blackberry jelly sounds wonderful. How nice that you can get it directly from Costco! I just visited Amazon, and it's available there as well! ($11.40 for 28 oz.)
Heidi, I hope you enjoyed the Chinese buffet and rodeo tonight!

Had a blast last night. Food was great, company was great, and the rodeo, though small, was fun.
I had to go shopping for bird food afterwards, so I didn't get home until 12:30 in the morning, and didn't get unloaded and birds fed until 3 am.

I just learned that the adulterers are getting married in 13 days from now. I am SO tempted to spray paint the word ''ADULTERERS'' on the side of their trailer as a wedding present, but I don't want to be arrested for vandalism. How's this for gall? They're having a church wedding!!! Have either of them no shame at all???

I'm not surprised by the church wedding Heidi. He has always thought he was a good Christian even while having an affair. Delusional. It's almost enough to make me want to believe in hell, just to imagine his face when he got there.

Good morning friends, another warm humid day in the neighborhood. Dew points above 70 are humid, but Saturday's dew point of 77 was like breathing through a sponge. The high of 86*F had a feels like temp of 104*F. just getting to and from the auto, to grocery, every stitch of clothing was wet, yuck.
Did I mention my good finds on Amazon? After Christmas last year, I bought and donated a new artificial tree for our main lobby. The old one was held together by wire, looked rough. Well, not I am looking for ornaments, and ones a bit larger than the norm. I had found a package of 24 silver ornaments, 6 each in 4 different finishes, for $26, happened to look at 'other offers' and saw 'used' one for $1.78. Clicked on it out of curiosity, 'will arrive in original packaging, packaging is damaged' later found 50 yards of silver wired ribbon also 'used' similar good deal, with damaged packaging, contents 'good as new'. I love finding a bargain, and if by chance item is damaged, Amazon will refund. OH, was Prime, too, so no shipping added. should be here Tomorrow. I will get staff to store it away with the tree.
Heidi, I missed all of you too.
Suzi, we think her co pay on just one med will be $400. Will find out later this month when script has to be filled.
Time to start my day now, hugs to each of you with extras.

Hi all. Today was first day back for teachers. Students report next Monday. Was not at school today. We met at Junior Achievement World (about 20 minutes away) as they are going to be working with our students this year. We used their meeting rooms for today, to be different. Dylan and his friend Joseph with be coming with me the rest of the week. You need 40 service hours to graduate and helping teachers counts. They will help me and also the teacher in charge of textbooks. They will be delivering them to teachers. They will also help anyone else, time permitting. They helped last year and both were requested by my friend to help with textbooks. Joe is trying for 100 hours. Dylan is trying for 400 or more. The more hours, the better the scholarship possibilities

Hi, Everyone! Nice to see MizT and Tami posting! Hope you both had a good day - sounded busy for both of you. Tami, so nice that Dylan and his friend can be such a great help! in the late 90's the local high school had a program called SOS (Service Over Self) and students donated time to help others. It started as volunteer, but I think over the years it became a graduation requirement. Good program for students to learn about volunteerism!

MizT. You made me curious so I checked our dew point for today. It has been hovering around 1 or 2 C, but today got up to 10.8, that's around 51. Spring has started early this year. That drug price is horrendous! I hope it turns out to be less.
Tami, the service hours idea is great! I don't think We have anything like that here, st least in my home town.
I met a new neighbour yesterday. Like the neighbour who helps me with the chickens, he is in his 70s. I decided to mow what I could of the back paddock and ran out of fuel on my second circle around. I walked up to get the can and he called out if everything was okay. He carried the 20 litre can for me and filled the tank. Then he brought over his gigantic mower and mowed the paddock for me! Even the bit with the super long grass that my mower wouldn't touch anymore. I mowed the back yard instead, except I ran over something and stuffed up the mower. He came over today and fixed it! Last night I bought a Boston bun and took it to them. I said I was going to bake them a cake, but then remembered I'm a really bad cook. They made me coffee, I cuddled their puppy and ate bun. It was nice.

Suzy, how wonderful. Life still has some wonderful moments in store for you.
I came home from Melbourne absolutely exhausted. Kyle's team won their football in a very close game against a team that had not lost a game all season. The other team were not happy and things turned a bit ugly. Police were called. Not very nice for an U/15 game.
Not easy being in a home with 15 and 12 year old boys. Very noisy and not what I needed when not real well.
treatment today and my red count is very low. I will be having a blood transfusion next week. I see the oncologist tomorrow.
Heidi, once they are married Gil will revert to type and not pay bills etc. I would send her a congratulations card and say how happy you are that someone else now has the problem of Gil. It is just a pity that they still live so close.

Just got back from the Vet's with Miss Kitty (horse). The cancer aroud the eye has returned with a vengance. I have 2 choices.... either I take her in to a major equine hospital and they remove the eye and surrounding tissues (and being very old, she may not survive the surgery) or do nothing and let her live out her life. She is 29 years old, at about a horse's normal life expectancy, and the recovery from the surgery would be painful. If she was a younger horse, I'd risk it since she's have years ahead of her without pain. But I don't like the idea of her last months being in pain. The cancer doesn't seem to be causing her much discomfort, except that she's blind on that side. So I'm just going to let her live out her life without surgery. The Vet says that if she makes it thru' the fall, she'll definitely survive winter. But probably not past that.

Gil looks really wishy washy. Does that make sense? And, yes, I saw the smug look. It might hurt less to think about how horrible he was to you, and how she has already discovered he is not all that he seemed. She'll probably make his life hell, and vice versa....

Hi, All!
Suzy, what a wonderful neighbor you have!
June, how awful to hear about the ugliness following the game, but glad to hear that your grandson's team won. I hope you will soon be feeling better and rested after a difficult stay with your grandsons. Some people say boys are easier to raise than girls, but I'm not sure that's always the case. I hope the visit with your oncologist goes well and you will feel better after the transfusion next week!
Heidi, thanks for sharing the announcement from the lovebirds. I guess they deserve each other. I commented on your page with the photo. They certainly seem to be full of themselves and their importance. So sorry to hear about your horse, Miss Kitty. Such a difficult position to be in, but I would never doubt that a decision you make for the health of one of your animals would be in the absolute best interest of the animal. I hope you continues to not suffer from the cancer. {{HUGS}} to you, and to her.

June, I can't imagine people getting that worked up over an under 15 game! Yes, I'd be disappointed if my kids team lost after being undefeated all season, but to resort to stuff that needed police intervention? That's messed up! I hope the transfusion leaves you feeling a bit better and you are enjoying being back in the peace and quiet.
My adventure for yesterday was the scrape removal for biopsy of one of the suspected BCCs. He's going to watch the other one. I think he was paranoid about scarring me. The nurse told me it would bleed a bit after the local wore off. And it did! Ewww! It stopped, then started again when I had to go out to pick up Alie. Ewww!

A little Risky, but I’ll take a chance… (just can't help myself)
A country preacher from Australia had a teenage son named Chip and it was getting time the boy should give some thought to choosing a profession. Like many young men, the boy didn't have a clue what he wanted to do, and didn't seem too concerned about it.
One day, while the boy was away at school, his father decided to try an experiment. He went into the boy's room and placed four objects on his desk:
- A Bible
- A silver dollar
- A bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey
- A Playboy magazine
The old preacher then says to himself 'I'll just hide behind the door, and when he comes home from school this afternoon, I'll see which object he picks up. If it's the Bible, he's going to be a preacher like me, and what a blessing that would be! If he picks up the dollar, he's going to be a businessman, and that would be OK; but if picks up the bottle, he's going to be a no-good drunkard, and, Lord, what a shame that would be. And worst of all, if he picks up that horrible magazine he's gonna be a skirt-chasin' bum.'
The old man waited anxiously, and soon heard his son's footsteps entering the house and whistling and he headed for his room.
The boy tossed his books on the bed, and as he turned to leave spotted the objects on the desk. With curiosity in his eye, he walked over to inspect them.
He picked up the Bible and placed it under his arm, dropped the silver dollar into his pocket, uncorked the bottle, and chugged a big long drink while he studied the details of this month's centerfold.
'Lord have mercy,' the old preacher disgustedly whispered, 'he's gonna be a Sailor!'

DoA, are you sure that your other name is not 'Chip'.
I do not get the transfusion till next Tuesday. The red blood cells were very low and I would say this weeks treatment has made them even lower. Other than going with Ken to do the grocery shopping I have slept all day. I have no energy at all.
Oncologist was pleased with things when I saw him yesterday. Said this treatment is having an effect. I hope that means that it is slowing things down. I will have another CT scan on 4 September and that will give us an idea how things stand.

DorA, I live just down the road from a navy base. Sailors everywhere! Some army too because there is a parachute training school. Many years ago I was walking past the parachute training school with some school kids. They had just had swimming lessons in the pool on the base. One of the instructors yelled at the army guys that the kids were doing a better job of following instructions than they were. The kids loved that!

It's kind of scary here today. Wind gusts over 100 kph! 90 is where damage starts. My windows are rattling!
I walked out the back this morning and the old shepherd was lying very still at the back door. I was sad and trying to work out how I would dig a hole, especially in this wind. And then how I'd be able to lift her, she's not small. I breathed a sigh of relief when she moved herself to her dog bed. I'm not sure why she isn't on her inside dog bed in this weather, but it's her choice.
Good news re hubby's super this morning. 401k for the topsiders. The money has been moved to my account and it is 20k more than I expected! Not enough to pay the house off , but closer than before!

Greetings friends. I have played host to the first cold in 17 + years. Yep, last one was Dec 1999, and was the day I stopped smoking. I had forgotten how miserable a cold can make one feel. my only accomplishment in 3 days was to take a shower today. Have not even washed dishes, if I need a cup and all are dirty, I wash a cup. I am so sore from coughing. have slept most of today, guess I needed it.
I missed a trip to Pepper place this morning, and the august birthday party this afternoon. I have not set foot out of my apartment, would not want to share this germ with anyone. I do hope this cold is about ready to leave, I am tired of it!
I will refrain from giving hugs today, even cyber hugs, this germ is so yuck. catch you all again soon.
