Christmas in Antarctica

Port Lockroy, the former English base, now hosts a souvenir shop, post office and a museum. The staff still work in the surroundings. The museum had items from the days it was used as an English base.

We were at Port Lockroy, too. It was the only place in Antarctica we could buy any souvenirs!

T-shirts, of course! And some fleece vests, ball caps, earrings, & a Christmas tree ornament. They also had a mailbox there so we mailed some postcards which would have a postmark from Antarctica!

I sent a postcard to myself, bought a few gifts for the grandchildren as the gift shop on board only sold mostly clothing with the insignia on from the tour company.
