They won't let you get that close to the redwoods in California.

Everyone into the picture. Group hug!

That tree does look huggable. And at it's age, it deserves some hugs.

Try as you may, you will NEVER push over that tree, folks!

If it's not a Redwood, what is it and where is it? The ferns in the background are big and lush.

Looks like you and Anne are the huggers, Ian. I never pass up a chance to hug a tree - especially a grand one like this guy!

6:37 Wow, that certainly is one huge tree.

I can't sleep so thought I'd get up and do some puzzles.

Needs several more people to get it surrounded. I'm curious what kind it is, too. Not true, Dorthea. Go over the Golden Gate and take a walk in Muir Woods.

maen all! grand old tree...bark looks like a eucalyptus like the massive imports down san diego way...that balboa park has some real beauties...that mendicino county north of sonoma is pretty good for redwood activity...lots of tree houses and climbers...just don't think about bringing your chainsaw...

Love the comments.
It's a Spotted Gum in a forest on the south coast of New South Wales. There was another one about the same size nearby.
The 'Huggers' were friends of ours who we were visiting for a couple of days and I asked them to pose for me - I couldn't even rent a crowd because the place was so remote.
Lovely tree though.
