Looks like a very lonely part of the country.
"Big Sky" country!
20/Jan/12 12:14 AM

A husband reluctantly agreed to play in the couples' alternate shot tournament at his club.

He teed off on the first hole, a par four, and blistered a drive 300 yards down the middle of the fairway. Upon reaching the ball, the husband said to his wife, "Just hit it toward the green, More...

Going to optometrist this morning to see what's going on with my eye - floaters (never had them before) & a few flashes of light. I have a 'lazy' eye and most of my vision is in this 'good' eye. I'm probably a bit paranoid, but better safe than sorry.
Wish me
Hope to 'see' you later!

Pooh awoke (after having a good sleep on a full belly of Gath's honey) and thought back to his day in Sudokuland. Yes indeed, it had turned out to be a very blustery day after all!
20/Jan/12 12:56 AM
Nice picture, but a bit desolate.
Funny, Jim.
Is that "The End" Greg?
20/Jan/12 1:11 AM
No Hal, as I'm sure Pooh will show up in Sudokuland again to visit all his friends that he missed.

I had floaters in both eyes. The doctor fixed that when he operating on them. First one, and a year later the other. My doctor is has done hundreds of those ops, so I trusted him and he made it simple. The only thing bad was trying to get eye drops in for the next weeks.

all - we had rain - lots of rain. Maybe the ground will be able to take a spade. It has been rock hard.
20/Jan/12 1:30 AM
Does Nullarbor mean no trees?
20/Jan/12 1:46 AM
Good one, Keith.
20/Jan/12 2:04 AM
S - L - O - W start to the day...
20/Jan/12 2:06 AM
Actually, it does, Keith. From Wikipedia: Latin: nullus, "no", and arbor, "tree".

Somehow, my little pea brain knew that before I posted it. I'm looking for confirmation from a local that knows the history of the name.
20/Jan/12 2:24 AM
Might I?

Thx for the push, Hal.

Eve, I have the opposite problem. Too much rain. The ground is too soft to work with equipment. It just sinks in and makes a mud wallow. 17" of snow on the ground, at this time, yesterday. Almost 4 hours on the "Bobcat" clearing my road and parking (turnaround) area so UPS could make More...

Good morning people of the world.

Back from my eye appointment. Eyes going to be fine. Said things would get worse, but a 'normal' happening. Supposed to go back in a month to check on progress of ... what? Old eyes???
But a good thing I went. Both lenses had small chips at the corners and since it's within a year of getting More...

I ordered watercolor paper from Seattle's 'Daniel Smith' artist supply place yesterday and they said they'd send it out ( get this ) ...when it stops snowing!!! Poor Seattle - with all those (beautiful) hills! I doubt they are handling the snow very well.
20/Jan/12 2:47 AM
HI all! I like your popcorn day, Karen, but you will never get me in blue jeans!
Yesterday's poozle proved at least one thing - Jamie, our resident math teacher is still sozzled after his weekend wedding! Correct answers came in from Peter, Eve, Mr C, Shosho, Capt J, Jerry, Lone, Heidi and HalT. Jamie I shall send you some hair of the dog to help you along. Oh, hold on, I don't have a dog...

Here's today's offering - answers to the "what if it was winter?" inbox please!
As Mr. Smith's birthday approaches, he starts to collect leaves. On the first day of the month he collects one leaf, on the second day he collects two, and so on. So by his birthday he'll have collected 276 leaves altogether. On which day of the month is Mr. Smith's birthday?
20/Jan/12 2:52 AM
Thanks, anyway, Fiona!! I have to go grade papers pretty soon.
At the risk of sounding VERY sexist, women in blue jeans can be either incredible or a tremendous mistake. I will stay out of the discussion about which on this site would fit into which category!

My horoscope on this page has been saying that the moon has been whispering in my year for about a month now! I'll end up with an ear infection if it doesn't let up a bit! Gaaaaath!!! Why don't the horoscopes change any more?????
20/Jan/12 2:57 AM
I refuse to take the risk, Jamie and haven't worn those things since I was 20!
20/Jan/12 2:58 AM
I just went back to yesterday to read about Pooh's visit! What fun he had in Sudokuland!

"Down on the corner, by the traffic light,
everybody's lookin', as she goes by,
they turn their heads and they, watch her till she's gone.
Lord have mercy, Baby's got her blue jeans on!"

20/Jan/12 3:03 AM
Fiona - I suspect that at 20 you were stunning in jeans.
I just sent you a CORRECT answer to the puzzle - to begin making up for yesterdays add/subtract snafu.
Of course my answer assumes that he quits collecting ON his birthday, not the day BEFORE his birthday.
20/Jan/12 3:03 AM
HalT - good song. In Texas, many of the best jeans wearers would come from towns that have one stop light or less!
20/Jan/12 3:04 AM
I am going to go work the medium puzzle and then try to grade some papers and work my statistics worksheet.
20/Jan/12 3:05 AM
Blue jeans reclined on a leather couch ... the mind boggles.
20/Jan/12 3:05 AM
Of course I could try
