Good morning, Glenn! How was your meeting?
27/Feb/10 12:03 AM
 |  |

My wife and I were going to go up to Blue Spring State Park to view the manatees today, but we are both horribly sick with a respiratory infection. It is a shame, too! It is a frigid day here in Florida and the last cold snap my younger daughter brought a friend from LSU there and there were over 200 manatees basking in the warm waters of the spring!

My meeting went extremely well! I have been officially moved to a new team and I will get to have more fun at work than I have had in years! I will be working on producing innovative new educational content to be streamed over the Internet and for download as podcasts. I will be the primary narrator of the content!

I saw my first Robin yesterday outside my kitchen window! That is usually the first sign of spring around here! Unfortunately, the little guy must be a bit confused! Spring is still almost a month and a half off. We've got 8 inches of snow here! Poor thing was huddled on a branch, all puffed up to More...

Here is the web site for the park we had hoped to visit today:

And here is an article about how many were at the spring at the end of December - over 200!

Good Morning to everyone!

It is cold, snowy and blustery here today. (A typical winter day!)

Glen - Congratulations!
I hope you and your wife will be feeling better soon!

We saw several Manatees in Florida near Titusville once. We were on a boardwalk along a river and they came up just at our feet. Really interesting animals! Rather bad breath, though! There is a song by John Flynn called, "A Manatee Sneezed on Me! ... You May Think It's Funny, But It'S not!" (slurring the last two words together!) Cute song!

Good morning all. We got good news yesterday, my Father was taken off the vent, moved from CCU to a Cardiac medical floor. Thanks to all of you who have sent messages and prayers to our family.

I saw five robins in our yard yesterday, Spring must be around the corner.

Glenn congratulations on your new promotion.

Nancy - That is great news! I hope he continues to improve!

We haven't seen any robins here yet......

Have a great day everyone!

Alas, John & Nancy, Spring is NOT just around the corner, I guess!
I never recall Robins not going south to warmer climes before! (Yes, I know! It's a double negative!) I wonder what they are eating? Rather hard to get those worms under 8 inches of snow, I'd say! Poor things!

They have worms catered Shiela
27/Feb/10 1:04 AM

That's very good news, Nancy! We'll continue sending our 'Get Well' messages & prayers to him.

2:55 oh dear, oh dear, hello to all.

Thought for the Day:

I am persuaded that every time a man smiles - but much more so when he laughs - it adds something to this fragment of life.

John, I think I'll have to put an order in for that Robin!
Worms, Judy? I'll leave them for the Robins, thank you!
Didn't recognize you, Keith! Photo must have been 'BB'... before beard!

If I dropped a bowling ball in a bucket of water which is 45 degrees F, and dropped another bowling ball of the same weight, mass, and size in a bucket at 30 degrees F, both of them at the same time, which ball would hit the bottom of the bucket first?

Good Maen fellow sudokuists!
Glenn - so happy for you!
Keith - cute picture!
Nancy - great news about your father - continued best wishes for his good progress.
I loved this picture, too - looked like a very sunny day - unlike here where the solar panels will not be generating power - stormy day!

world! The results of Harry's culture is back, he has a MRSA staph infection. So now they are changing antibiotics to one more suited to MRSA. He will not be coming home today, the doctor is not sure when he will be able to come home.
Got to get ready to go to the hospital!! Later
27/Feb/10 3:20 AM
 |  |

Sue, now he will get the right treatment so should be home soon.
Glenn, get rid of the bugs, you do not need to be ill. New job sounds interesting.
We are now back home. Ears still ringing from the long flight but nice to be home.
We were surprised at how different we found Egypt and More...

Bummer, Sue! Well, at least Harry is where he should be. MRSA needs to be treated with intravenous antibiotics and under the watchful eye of trained medical personnel. Prayers and healing wishes for a quick resolution to this problem.
