I see from an earlier post that you are starting to think about getting ready for the kids to go back to school. When do they start. Over here in England schools don't go back until the beginning of September.

Re school: Brendan leaves for college in less than 2 weeks, on the 17th. He has preseason for soccer so he goes early. Classes don't start until September. He hasn't had orientation yet so we don't know everything he needs. His orientation is just before school starts which is a stupid way to do it because they tell you what you need after you're already there.

D#1 doesn't have to be to school until September, but she is going the week after. Her roommates are there for sports so she is going back early to hang out. Last year as a freshman at Boston College we knew what to expect and what to bring because they had an excellent orientation program in July.

D#2 is heading off to boarding school on September 5th. There's alot of stuff to get ready for her. Unfortunately, we just got the calendar from S#2's school this weekend and he also starts on the 5th, so we don't know what to do yet.

I don't know about you, but the summer has disappeared so fast it doesn't seem like there is enough time to get things ready.

Nobody has been around for a while!! As they say, life gets in the way!

Hi Brenda. I just wrote a long reply about Smuggs and it got lost in cyberspace! Arrgghh!

It was tough for my mom but overall I think she enjoyed herself. We'll have to wait to see how long it takes her to recupperate to see if she'll do it again!

It's probably just as well that it got lost just in case two of my sisters happen to visit the site.

I sometimes type something then realise that it may not have been a good idea. By the sound of postings I have read from you you probably need a rest after the holiday it did sound an activity filled week.

Dinner time and still nobody is around today! It must be a very busy day all around! On the news just now, the President of Shell Oil was complaining to the legislature that the tax breaks the oil companies had been given were rescinded. He didn't have a comment regarding the 8.6 billion dollar profit Shell got this year, but he implied that gas prices will go up if they didn't get the tax breaks back. Do they listen to themselves?

I'm pretty good, although I didn't get much done today. My allergies were killing me because of the front that came through, so I took 24 hr allergy medicine and instant allergy medicine and then I didn't have the energy to do anything. That's why I keep checking here for a distraction! hehe

That's about the extent of my knowledge of him

Doesn't sound like a very flattering nickname. The show is pretty pathetic and the only ''reality'' show I watch is the Amazing Race, but it has been the only new show on this summer. I only saw the first couple of shows which I must say had me rotfl.
