So what plans for the weekend vdV?

Good thing I'm not allowed to drink when flying, else there would be none left when I got there

A friend of my wife's, 40th b'day party on Saturday, then flying lessons from dawn till dusk on Sunday

Sounds like fun. Do you do the lessons even if the weather is bad??

The weather can be very bad and we still fly, bad visibility is our biggest problem, need 5km of forward visibility

High winds mainly only matter if they are at 90 degreess to the runway, the plane has a maximum crosswind landing value, but flying is not a problem

What is it like with student flyers learning to fly when there is low visibility? It must be scary for them?

Having people over for lunch on Sunday. Will keep tomorrow pretty quiet, as I had a really hectic one last weekend & feel that I need a little bit of a rest for at least one day.

We can not fly if not enough visibility, but yes if you get caught out up there and visibility is reducing it is scary and you need to act fast to get out of the situation

If you want to fly in low/no visibility you need and instrument rating which takes a long time to get

So you get a chance to sleep in then!

I will sleep in tomorrow, & maybe even Sunday. Although I do need to go for a long walk tomorrow, with the weather the way its been this week I haven't had much excercise. I like to do that first thing in am, therefore not too long a lie in

You probably don't get too sleep in with children, I suppose

I look after the kids on Saturdays to give the missus some time to herself, so no sleep in for me

That's so nice vdV. Does she go out & leave you all then - or do you take them out? I guess with you out all day on Sundays, it's only fair, but then a lot of men wouldn't be that generous

And you must enjoy it too - having time alone with the kids

Sometime I go out with the kids, other times she goes out, and sometimes we all go/stay together, up to her really
