Problems caused by animated ads below the game gri

I have occasionally had difficulties while trying to enter numbers or possibilities in the game grid. I have a reasonably good system, and normally experience no delays, with numbers appearing as fast as I can enter them. Sometimes, however, a problem arises where it may take several seconds for the numbers to appear.

I initially thought some process on my system must be causing it to slow down, but I couldn't find anything there. Then it occurred to me that perhaps the movie-style ads we've been seeing recently may be causing the problem. So I started using the 'No Animated Ads' button, and the problem went away - for a while. When I investigated further, I found that the ad below the grid was being replaced by one of those resource-hungry monsters! Even on the 'No Animated Ads' page!

Now I check that ad before I start a game. If it's one of the problem ads, I move to another game then come back and try again until I get a non-movie ad (occasionally need two or three reloads, but usually just once is enough). I have had no repeats of the initial problem when there are no movie ads on the page.

I haven't myself experienced this particular problem, probably because I don't post very often. I do think, however, it may be related to the problem I have outlined above. When it comes to computer resources, those ads are very greedy little @#$%s! It would be interesting to hear whether this problem still occurs when there are no movie-style ads on the page.

Great suggestion, Saltie - I'm willing to try just about anything, so I will begin using your plan & see if my irritation disappears - thanks!

The No-Animated button does not stop the video ads below the puzzle, and the video prevents entering numbers. The only solution, if the puzzle is partly solved, is to Save Game, close the page, and come back and, if the new page does not have a video, Load Game.
