From the shadow of the Washington Monument, looking west

Standing in the shade of the Washington Monument to get out of the hot July sun, I snapped this pic looking west. First, the ring of flags surround the monument to the USA's first President. The Indian-Americans shown were making their first visit there, and their pride in becoming Americans showed. Further west, the World War 2 Memorial was designed to not destroy the wide open view of the Lincoln Memorial, in the far distance.
