Alas, I have kissed the stone ... and lived to tell about it! Almost didn't, though. As we climbed the horrible stairs and waited our turns, some scruffy, local ruffians proclaimed: "You ladies going to kiss the stone? You know, at night, we climb up and p*iss on it."
