Snow Canyon North of St. George Utah

While the red rocks around St. George are spectacular, just north of there we found this canyon. We were on the black volcanic rock side looking across to the red rock side of the canyon. You can't see the white rock that was to the right side of this photo. What a geological variety in such a short distance!

Wilodene - I think Snow Canyon is one of the coolest places on the planet! Have explored many parts of it...but did you know it has tremendous nuclear fallout from the testing they did in the 40's and 50's? John Wayne filmed a movie in Snow Canyon (can't remember the name of it...a Western) - everyone who worked on-site on that film has died from some form of cancer. Pretty trippy, huh? I figured it was because they were kicking up all the dirt with stage coaches and horses and such. This is one of the best photographs I have seen of Snow Canyon - Beautiful!
