Joan - I am so grateful for pet lovers like you. I can't believe people insist on pure bred animals when there are so many unfortunate ones that need homes. Bless you and those gals running "Happy Whiskers"!
It is hard to do the volunteer work, but a few of the other volunteers helped me by a couple of things they said...
1. "It isn't about you, Vici"
2. "If we don't help and put aside our feelings, who will?"
I am glad they put it to me those ways. The biggest problem is trying not to bring them all home. Fortunately my husband helps me keep my adopting curbed...that and my finances - you know how expensive pets can get.
It also helps knowing that none of them are going to be put down for space. One way or another they will all get homes eventually.

Joan - I am so grateful to you. Bonnie sounds like a doll. We have lots of pitbull mixes at our shelter (our area has a lot of ignoramouses who have to have unfixed pitties)...and they are such sweet dogs. Yep - strong knees are advised!
It was so great to hear from you and I'm glad all is well. I keep wanting to get pictures of my crew submitted for puzzle pictures. Hard to find the time for anything these days!
