Looks like a very heavy frost, Sacky. Do you get a lot of these each winter ? Amazing how the animals seem to be able to cope with the cold - I suppose as long as there is enough fodder, they are OK.

Great photo, Sacky. Are you sure you're not a professional photographer? I haven't seen newborn calves since my grandparents had their farm and I was a little kid.

We do get quite a few frosts this time of the year. These Angus cattle originally came from Scotland, so they are adapted to the frosts and much worse. We don't get snow and the frost is gone by midday.

Love this photo,Sacky. The scene is just wonderful with the mother and calf ,as well as the gorgeous setting. Tasmania is a beautiful place.
