The Great Pee Dee River (named after a local Indian tribe)
There is a story that Stephen Foster was inspired to write the song "Old Folks at Home" by this river. However the words - way down upon the Pee Dee River - didn't sound right to him, so he substituted "Swannee River" (Suwanee River in Georgia) which he never saw!

The Suwannee is also in Florida, and "Old Folks at Home" is (or was) the state song of Florida! I like the Pee Dee in South Carolina, South of Myrtle Beach!
