I never seen this one before ! What a massive spike!
Do the florets at the very tip also come out ? And how long would it take from the start to finish ?
Looks like it is growing in semi-shade; I would have thought that as a suculant, it would require full sun ?

They open from the bottom to the top & die off from the bottom to the top, so you never get the whole stem covered with flowers at the same time!
