Ahhh, the diffferences in our common language. In the USA we would call that a dock or a pier, not a jetty. A Jetty is more a breakwater, solid from the floor of the body of water to above water level, made from rock or sand/dirt with rock or rubble over top to protect it. It redirects current or waves away from a beach, usually to prevent erosion.
